School Spotlight
Truth and Reconciliation at YLW
640 thoughtful art pieces from students and staff at Watson Road Elementary created the Project Heart art exhibit at Kelowna International Airport. The display is an invitation to all who view it to continue building a community where every child matters. Nestled among educational posters and the Four Food Chiefs, each uniquely crafted tile shares our learning with our community and the world travelers who will view it. It is an inspiring look into how we are listening, learning, and growing together as we walk the path towards truth and reconciliation. The exhibit will run until October 14th.

Genesis Caicedo, DSC Co-President
I’m honoured to represent students with my Co-President, Ala'a. Student voice is essential, and one of our key goals this year is strengthening engagement and leadership across the district!
Ala'a Alaiwah, DSC Co-President
I’m honoured to represent the DSC alongside Co-President Genesis. It is vital that students have a voice in Central Okanagan Public Schools, because student voice helps shape schools that reflect our needs and experiences. One of our big learning priorities for the year is strengthening student connections across the district, and we look forward to sharing more soon!
