Rigler Family Newsletter
May 23, 2026
Dear Panther Family,
Rigler held its first ever Science Friday this week. Students/families had the opportunity to engage in the following Life Science Learning:- Tour Rigler's Arboretum
- Go on a scavenger hunt within Rigler's Garden
- Learn about birds and bird watching with the Vancouver Audubon society
- Learn about Stormwater Drainage through the Estuary Partnership
- Observe with Scouts
- Create Nature Art (leaf rubbings, etc.)
This next week, we look forward to Friday's Talent Show at the following times:
- GK-2: 9:30 - 10:15
- G3-5: 1:30 - 2:15
Thanks to Mr. Williams for practicing with students this week and families for helping them get ready. We can't wait to see what they share!
Families are welcome to join the Talent Show. As a reminder, all must enter/exit from the main doors. If any family member wants a child in another grade band to join, they must first sign the child out of class.
I will be away from the building Wednesday - Friday of this week to attend the National Community Schools and Family Engagement Conference. Ms. Casson-Taylor will be at Rigler for all three days as a Guest Principal and able to respond to immediate questions.
See you Tuesday!
Principal Bancroft
Attendance
Attendance Winners - Every Day Counts
Kudos to the following classes:
- Maestra Amelia's class for Best Attendance of the Week
- Maestro Caceres' class for Most Improved Attendance
Core Enrichment Chronicles
Our core-enrichment teachers invite you to explore what’s happening across our classrooms. Students have explored the wonder and musicality of Camille Saint-Saens Carnival of the Animals, practiced the timeless tradition of weaving, and discovered how books can teach us interesting facts about animals...and who would win in a battle between a lion and a tiger. Across our Art, Library, and Music classrooms, students at Rigler are expanding their horizons and discovering new ways to learn and express themselves.
News from Ms. Cash
Ms. Cash, our movement (yoga and PE) teacher has shared these weekly notes.
Please take time to read it - it includes photos and comprehensive information about what students are learning in PE and Yoga.
