A Message From Dr. Cannon
Happy Friday!
We had another busy week! Our 5th grade students took the CogAt assessment, we celebrated our October PAX Leaders of the Month, our 5th grade Student Council had their first meeting with me, and students participated in various Halloween activities.
There is a different energy in the building when students are excited for an upcoming holiday or activity! At Bogan, we believe in providing students with a strong academic foundation. We also believe in providing students with opportunities to have fun, be creative, and make lasting memories. I imagine all of us can think back and remember the fun activities we got to participate in during our school years!
Have a great weekend!
Sincerely,
Dr. Kirsten Cannon, Principal

Lost and Found
Our lost and found is filling up! Please encourage your student to visit the lost and found if they have misplaced a lunchbox or article of clothing.
Any items not claimed by winter break will be donated.
Also, please make sure your child's name is written on the tag so that we can ensure lost items get back to students. Thank you!

Hello parents and guardians!
I don’t know how it happened, but here we are at the end of October and the beginning of the countdown to Thanksgiving break! Students have been so excited to share about all of their exciting fall events and Halloween costumes and I love the organic conversations and hugs that happen when I pass students in the hallway or the cafeteria.
In our classroom Second Step lessons, all grade levels have officially completed their first unit. We are getting ready to move on to unit two, with all grade levels getting ready to start learning about emotions and coping skills. As we begin to learn about these, students will learn how to manage their emotions when big events happen, when struggling with conflict with others, and in other moments when emotions pop up.
We continue to work on our building wide PBIS expectations and will be focusing on the theme of safety in November. Students will continue to earn their Bogan Brave tickets for character traits we have already learned and it is exciting to see their faces when they receive tickets and get to turn them in. They love the positive recognition for being a leader!
As a reminder, if your student needs anything at all, please don’t hesitate to reach out! I can be reached at the following contact information:
Email: heidelh@talawanda.org
Phone: 513-273-3460
There is also a Google Form you can complete and I can follow up with details on support for your student.

Updated October 24th
Hi Bogan Families!
Cold and flu season are officially here and I wanted to share with you the guidelines on when to keep your sick children at home. This chart touches on more than just cold and flu but is a good reminder to all when we need to stay home and when we are able to return back to school.
Please be sure if your child is out sick to call and let our attendance line know they will not be at school. Also, if your child has a doctor's note for excused days, have your child drop that off to the front office.
Please click the photo below for information from the CDC.
