Principal's Message
Hi Memorial Families,
This week we had our House Meeting where students discussed the meaning of their house name and learned a bit about the process as well as their team. It's through these meetings that students make a connection about the Journey of a Blue Devil and explore how they can develop those skills/ attributes in themselves. We have another few weeks of fun to finish out October, let's make them memorable at Memorial.
A little side note: I have spent some time this week with Kindergarteners. I am blown away by their ability. Not only do we have students who are blending sounds into words, but students are getting opportunities to be leaders of their small group as they present and lead small activities to practice those sounds and word blending. We have to pause and appreciate the progress in our school community.

Memorial Halloween Parade 2026
Dear Families,
Halloween is just around the corner, and we know many of you are planning for costumes! To help everyone enjoy a fun and safe celebration, please keep the following in mind when preparing for the day:
Costume Guidelines
Costumes should reflect a positive and festive spirit.
No gory, bloody, or frightening costumes are permitted.
Masks should be brought in bookbags and not worn on the bus.
Masks may only be worn during the parade.
Students can bring or wear their costumes to school. Teachers will allow time for students to “get ready.”
Face paint is welcome, but please ensure your child is still recognizable.
No weapons or weapon-like props of any kind are allowed.
Costumes must respectfully cover the body and be school-appropriate.
Parade Details
🗓️ Date: Friday, October 30
⏰ Time: Parade begins at 2:00 PM and ends around 2:30 PM
Outdoor Plan (Weather Permitting):
Students will walk through our neighborhood following this route:
Exit through the southeast doors (near the pool)
Follow the walkway to Westchester
Turn south on Westchester
Turn west on Magnolia toward the front driveway
Return up the walkway to the main doors and back to classrooms
Families are welcome to stand along the route to cheer and take photos. Please be respectful of our neighbors’ yards and driveways.
Indoor Plan (If Weather Is Poor):
If the weather doesn’t cooperate, students will parade inside the school building.
Parents may view the parade from the main hallway near the office.
For safety, parents may only enter and exit through the front doors.
We’re excited to share this fun and festive day with our students and families. Thank you for helping us make the parade safe, positive, and memorable for everyone!
Happy Halloween! 👻

Outdoor Recess
As cooler temperatures approach, please make sure your child comes to school dressed appropriately for outdoor recess. Students should bring a jacket and wear clothing that will keep them warm and comfortable while playing outside. We want everyone to enjoy their time outdoors, even as the temperatures drop.
Attendance Reminder
As we head into the second quarter, we want to emphasize the importance of consistent attendance. Every school day matters! Being at school each day helps students maintain strong routines, develop friendships, and stay engaged in their learning. Thank you for your continued partnership in making school attendance a priority and supporting your child's success.
