Finals Week Schedule: December 15-19, 2025
Mayfair Middle/High School will hold its Fall Semester 2025 final exams from December 15–19, with a modified schedule each day to support students as they complete their end-of-semester assessments. Throughout the week, students will follow specific exam blocks for designated periods, with snack breaks built in to help them recharge. Middle school and high school lunch times are clearly outlined, and each day focuses on a small number of classes to give students the time they need to perform at their best. Families are also encouraged to help students prepare by checking Aeries for current grades, ensuring all assignments are submitted, and supporting students as they study for their exams. Mayfair wishes all students a successful finish to the semester and a wonderful holiday season ahead!
AP Scholars Celebration: 12.8.25
Mayfair High School recently held a special event celebrating our AP achievements and the incredible dedication of our students. This year, the school proudly offered 21 AP courses, and students rose to the challenge in remarkable ways. Last spring, they completed a total of 604 AP exams, and at the celebration, we honored the 229 students who were invited to attend—nearly 100 of whom were seniors who had passed one or more exams prior to graduating.
We were also proud to share even more outstanding accomplishments: 212 current students (not including last year’s seniors) earned a score of 3 or higher on at least one AP exam, demonstrating the strength of our AP program and the ongoing commitment of our teachers, students, and families.
During Monday’s celebration, we recognized students who earned prestigious College Board distinctions, including
• 30 AP Scholars, awarded to students who received scores of 3 or higher on three or more AP exams;
• 20 AP Scholars with Honors, awarded to students who achieved an average score of at least 3.25 on all AP exams taken, with scores of 3 or higher on four or more exams; and
• 15 AP Scholars with Distinction, awarded to students who achieved an average score of at least 3.5 on all AP exams taken, with scores of 3 or higher on five or more exams.
The event was well attended, with about 200 RSVPs from students and families, all coming together to recognize this exceptional group.
The celebration took place on Monday, December 8, 2025, with check-in at 8:00 AM and the program beginning at 8:30 AM in front of the STEAM Building. It was a meaningful morning dedicated to honoring academic excellence across Mayfair High School’s AP program.

With the pressure on, Mayfair rallied in dramatic fashion—Darian Heller delivered a clutch 2–1 comeback in Set 4, and Jonathan Virula sealed the championship with his own 2–1 comeback win in Set 5. Reminders
Listed below are just a few important reminders (PLEASE READ):
- Mayfair Middle/High School does not permit any drop-offs or deliveries of food or other items. Please ensure that your student is prepared for the day when coming to school in the morning with their lunch, supplies, money, etc.
- Dress Code. For the 2025-2026 school year, we are trying to prepare our students for college and career ready with a dress code. Students will not be allowed to wear any inappropriate clothing which includes the following: No sheer, low cut, revealing blouses, bare midriff, or braless outfits, bathing suits, beach attire, tight or revealing, or strapless garments. Please be sure that your student follows the dress code and wears appropriate clothing and accessories. Also, students may not bring blankets to campus. Click here to access Mayfair's Dress Code Policy.
- No returning back to campus. If a student has an early release (7th or 8th period), once the student leaves campus, they may not return to campus during school hours. Parents - please ensure that your students are going home early if they have the early release. Note: Students who have a "home" period, must leave campus by the end of lunch, and are not allowed to remain unsupervised. Please review your students schedule so that you are aware when they will be leaving campus early (prior to 3:35).
School Policies
Bikes/skateboards/ scooters
Students will not be allowed to have bikes, scooters or skateboards on campus. There are designated lock areas on the north and south ends of campus for students to securely store them during the school day. Riding and even walking them through campus presents a safety concern. Students are expected to pick up their belongings at the designated areas, and exit campus. Students are also required to walk their Bike, scooter or skateboard until they are completely off campus, which includes walkways and parking lots. Our goal is to insure safety for all students, we appreciate your support in upholding these expectations at home.
Tardy Policy
Starting October 13, 2025, Mayfair will enforce a new tardy policy: any student who is tardy to three or more periods in a single week will be assigned a lunch detention the following week. Students must complete their detention to be removed from the no-go Minga list and regain the ability to attend special school events, which are considered privileges. Failure to serve a lunch detention will result in additional consequences.
Wellness Center
Mayfair Middle/High School’s Wellness Center is available for students who need a short break to recharge during the day. Students must first check into class at the start of the period and then have a pass or Minga pass from a teacher or counselor to visit. Wellness breaks are limited to 10–15 minutes, and cell phones must be put away while in the center. Please remember that all health-related issues should be directed to the Health Office. Students are allowed only one pass per day unless otherwise determined.

Some of these programs are available at Mayfair High School, while others are offered at Bellflower High School, giving students across the district a variety of options to match their interests. We encourage you to watch a few of the videos together, discuss which areas spark interest, and talk with your student about how these electives could help shape their future — and set them up for post-high school success.

Minga
Mayfair Middle/High School students will utilize the app called Minga as a digital ID card. The app enables staff to create hall passes, reward students for doing well and helping others, and the digital ID card will help students have an easier time entering or leaving campus. The digital ID has a "live" interface, with a running digital clock and a moving background, thus preventing students from using a screenshot [Screenshots of ID are not permitted]. Students will utilize their school email (via Google) to log in. The app is safe to use, uses very little data, and doesn't require access to any of the information stored on your phone. If your child does not have a smartphone, don't worry - they will receive a printed ID card as well. Click here to access a quick document that shows you how to log into your school's Minga account.
