PES Family,

Welcome Back Panthers & Happy Reading!

We hope all of our Pioneer families enjoyed a restful and enjoyable Fall Break! Our students and teachers returned refreshed and hit the ground running. Classroom teams are currently working hard to complete the upcoming ILEARN Checkpoints and prepare for our middle-of-the-year assessments.

To keep learning fun and encourage reading for pleasure, we had a blast celebrating "Scary Stories Month" in October! As part of our school-wide reading incentives, I had the privilege of reading Eerie Elementary: The School is Alive! by Jack Chabert to our students. Seeing their engaged faces and hearing their excitement reminds us how powerful a great story can be.

As we move into November and December, our new school-wide reading theme will focus on Cultures Across the World. We encourage you to keep supporting your child’s literacy journey at home—reading together for just 15 to 20 minutes each night builds essential skills, expands vocabularies, and fosters a lifelong love of reading.

Thank you for your ongoing partnership, and let’s keep reading, Panthers!

We request your assistance supporting our students and school. We know that our children learn from adults who care about them. Giving your time, talent and ability will not only help our school, but will enhance our children's learning. Please join us in volunteering where your time allows. All volunteers must pass a background check. Forms are on file for 5 years. If you do not have one on file, or yours needs updated, a background check will be sent home with your student for you to fill out and return.
