Mrs. Stark's Message
Dear Maple Families,
What a short week! I hope everyone was able to stay warm! Even with a short week, we had a lot of learning going on! Just like we did for math, our students took their reading MAP benchmark assessment this week. We are excited to share your child's progress so far this year at parent/teacher conferences. If you haven't signed up to meet with your teacher yet, you can do so using the link below. Conferences will be held this Thursday, January 29th and next Wednesday, February 4th.
Please note that the Maple Produce Market is cancelled for this Tuesday, January 27th. If you are in need of food supplies, you can check out https://www.greaterclevelandfoodbank.org/ , and click on the "Find Food Near Me" function. You can also call the Food Bank's Help Center at 216.738.2067 for assistance.
Just a reminder about attendance. If a child is sick with a fever or vomiting, they need to be home for 24 hours and fever free (without medication) before they can return to school. At the same time, it is cold season! If your child has the sniffles, we still do need them at school! We ask that you take the time to teach them proper hygiene by covering their mouth, and washing their hands. This, along with getting enough sleep will help our students (and staff) get through this winter season!
Have you ever considered how arriving late can impact your child’s school day?
When students arrive after 8:10, they miss breakfast. After 8:25, they miss valuable time to connect with friends, get organized, and hear morning announcements that help set the tone for the day. Arriving after 8:30 means missing core instruction, which can make it harder for students to keep up and can lead to frustration.
We know mornings can be hectic—especially with multiple children—and winter weather certainly adds to the challenge. Our goal is simply to set every child up for a successful day, and we truly appreciate your partnership in helping students arrive on time.
Have a great weekend!
Mrs. Stark
