BOWE BULLETIN
Spring/Summer Edition
Happy End of Year from Bowe Middle School! I can't believe that the 2024-2025 school year is coming to a close, but what an amazing year it has been for our students. With a whirlwind calendar of events since the end of March, our students' talents inside and outside of the classroom have been highlighted and shared with families during our Family Night Escape Room, Art Show, NJHS Induction Ceremony, and Spring Concerts, to name just a few. Once again, third marking period brought over 125 students attaining Principal's List/Honor Roll as well as those eligible for our Renaissance program incentives. Bowe MS Track and Field dominated at meets throughout the spring with some team members being invited to run at the Penn Relays in late April. Participation in Bowe MS afterschool clubs continued to be strong, with Gaming Club and Futureact (community service club) joining our ranks in late April. To our eighth graders and their families who are closing this middle school chapter and opening a new one, I say thank you for allowing us to share in these last few years with your child. I wish everyone a safe and relaxing summer! See you in September!
National Junior Honor Society Induction
Bowe Middle School's National Junior Honor Society's Induction Ceremony was held on May 8, 2025. The event was a wonderful celebration of the achievements of our current members and the eight-8th grade and fourteen 7th grade inductees. The Bowe Middle School Choir under the direction of Mr. McCarrick performed several selections which helped to make the evening a success. Family, friends, and staff, including Dr. Silverstein, Mr. Stephenson, and Mrs. Kerr came together to honor these young men and women for this accomplishment.
2nd Annual Art Show
On March 27th, Bowe MS hosted its 2nd Annual Art Show where the art department under the direction of Mr. Monaco, highlighted the work of his talented artists in the form of an art show. This art show encompassed work from all over the globe. Students in 6th and 8th grade learned about many different techniques, skills, and styles over the course of the school year and these were on display for friends, family, the staff, and community to see and enjoy!
8th grade Field Trip to FUNPLEX
On Friday May 30th, 110 8th graders traveled to Funplex in Mt. Laurel for a few hours of fun! After a rainy week, Mother Nature cooperated and gave our students a dry day where students truly enjoyed all that the park had to offer. Many played in the lazy river and swimming pools, while others were daring and took on the water slides. The amusement park rides were also a big hit, as students traveled from ride to ride with their friends. It was an awesome sight to see these students laughing and smiling and truly enjoying one of their last events together as an 8th grade class.

Bulldog PRIDE Character Initiative- June Virtue-Charity
The Glassboro Public School District has enthusiastically embraced a district-wide character development initiative and has worked closely with a team of consultants from CITRS (Character-Integrity-Trust-Relationships-Success). Along with our continuing emphasis on academic growth, we are paying special attention to increasing the character of our students. It is the district’s firm belief that this will not only improve our schools but have a life-long benefit for every one of our students. Each month highlights a character “virtue” that is integrated into our teacher to student language, announcements, and classroom lessons. A student from each grade level is also chosen that represents this virtue of the month.
PRIDE is an acronym for our district Core Values (Perseverance, Respect, Integrity, Dependability, and Empathy). By emphasizing these values, we try to foster a positive and supportive learning environment where our students not only excel academically, but also grow into responsible and compassionate individuals. Your ability to reinforce these core values at home can further strengthen their impact.
