Dear Families,

We understand there were several delays with the new bus routes this morning. EPISD Transportation has since met with bus drivers and annex supervisors to ensure all routes are clear and understood moving forward.

If you experience any issues tomorrow morning, please let me know so I can quickly communicate updates to our families. We truly appreciate your patience and partnership as we work to ensure safe and timely transportation for all students.

Just a reminder that students are allowed to wear any YWA approved Spirit Shirt on Fridays!

To participate, students must wear their spirit shirt with black uniform bottoms.

Dear Orchestra Families,

We hope your school year is off to a great start! We’d like to invite all Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced Orchestra parents to our Orchestra Parent Meeting this August 14, Thursday, from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM in the YWA School Library.

During this meeting, we will:

• Review the 2025–2026 Music Calendar
• Go over the Orchestra Supply List
• Review the Orchestra Handbook
• Provide time for Q&A to address any questions you may have

This is a great opportunity to stay informed and connected with your child’s musical journey. If you are unable to attend, I’m happy to share the meeting files with you afterward.

📌 Instrument Purchases: If you are considering purchasing an instrument, please don’t hesitate to ask questions! Not all instruments are created equal, and I’m happy to help guide you toward quality options that will support your child’s success.

Please ensure your student is present every day. If you need to schedule appointments, please arrange them after lunch whenever possible.

If your student will be absent, email YWAnotes@episd.org so we can document your request. For medical absences, please attach a doctor’s note. All other absences require a Parent Request Form. You may email Mrs. Monica Granados (mxgranad@episd.org) or visit the front office to obtain the form.

Please note, it is at the Principal’s discretion to excuse non-medical absences without a doctor’s note. Absences such as out-of-town travel will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.

Students with excessive absences and/or tardies will be placed on a YWA Attendance Plan. Continued attendance concerns may result in transfer revocation or a mandatory court referral.
