🍂🎃 The year is off to a fantastic start at Hillcrest Elementary School. We are so proud of the hard work our students have already put in. After fall break, we will be launching our brand new writing curriculum, Reimagine Writing, and we are excited to see how it helps our students grow as authors ✍️✨. As Mrs. Tapscott always says, “Wait for the pumpkins.” 🍁 The beginning of the school year can be a tough adjustment, but once October rolls around, things just seem to fall into place—just like pumpkins on the vine! 🎃💛
We do want to take a moment to remind families to talk with your child about the importance of keeping their hands to themselves 🙌. We’ve had some issues at recess with third and fourth graders becoming physically aggressive, often during ball games ⚽🏀. While disagreements happen, physical aggression cannot be allowed. We want every student to feel safe and cared for at school, and we appreciate your help in reinforcing this important message at home ❤️.
We wish all of our families a safe, restful, and fun fall break 🍁🎃🍎.

Parent Input Needed for "EMSD Essentials"
We need your help! As part of our district's strategic plan, we're working to define what an "EMSD Learner" looks like. We're calling this the EMSD Essentials, and your input is crucial in shaping it.
