Viking News - The Week of 11/10/2025

The Week of November 24th, 2025
Happy Friday, RMHS Students & Families,
Kudos and Congratulations to the RPS Orchestra students for a phenomenal summit this past Thursday. Every year, I continue to be amazed and inspired by this community event. Watching elementary, middle and high school students on stage together performing such beautiful music is uniquely Rockport and a testament to the talent of our students and educators.
The Fall Athletic senior celebrations formally concluded with the Golf and Boys' Soccer teams honoring their successful seasons with individual banquets this past week. Congratulations to all of our Fall athletes on a fantastic season! We are looking forward to kicking off the Winter season when we come from the Thanksgiving weekend!
We have a short week coming up with a lot to look forward to! Be sure to look for information about the spirit activities planned to kick off the Thanksgiving holiday below. As we prepare to enter the first major holiday milestone of the year, I want to thank the students, families, and staff for making this year a positive one overall. The commitment, positivity, and enthusiasm you've shown throughout the year have worked together to make RMHS an amazing place for our kids to be and grow. I hope you can take the time to step away and enjoy a few moments of family and peace over the upcoming holiday weekend.
Here's to a great week ahead!😀

For Your Long-Term Planning - 2026 Mid-Year Exam Schedule & Expectations
The middle/high school schedule will be adjusted the week of January 20th - 23rd to accommodate the high school exam schedule. All students 6-12 will attend school all day with slight adjustments to the regular schedule. High school students will be able to leave campus after C block on Friday if they have fulfilled their exam obligations. If not, they will have the opportunity to make up exams during that time. It is important for high school students to plan to be in school and on time that week to fulfill this academic obligation. If students are absent for any reason, they need to contact the classroom teacher, along with the Dean of Students and Assistant Principal to arrange for the make-up exam. Please click the link below for more details on the 2026 schedule.

Attendance Update
Being in school and on time are extremely important to your child's success. When students attend school regularly and arrive on time, they stay engaged in their learning, build strong relationships, and develop solid study habits. Please help us by making sure your child gets to school on time each day. The cafeteria and library are open at 7:00 am and free breakfast is available in the cafeteria for all students. The main hallways and classrooms open at 7:25 am.
Students with more than three unexcused tardies in a quarter will be required to make up the time on learning after school. Mr. Parisi sent a notice to impacted students and families this past week and students will be expected to make up the time beginning on Wednesday, October 15th. Students are also ineligible to participate in after-school activities if they are chronically tardy. We appreciate the family support in making on-time attendance a priority.

For those students not able to get to school early on any given day, we will provide a set time in the morning to be sure breakfast is accessible to all. Breakfast and lunch continue to be free for students this year.

School Safety Reminder
The school campus is closed to the public when school is in session and after 10:00pm nightly. This includes the use of the tennis courts, track, playgrounds, athletic fields and all other parts of the campus. This does not include families and community members attending school events in our schools or on our school grounds. We appreciate the community's understanding and support as we continue to prioritize the safety of RPS students and staff.
