Back to School PD Survey Data

Thank you to those of you who gave a few moments toward our Back to School PD feedback survey. Here are the results of that survey which planners will take into account going into next year!

Also, there was some anecdotal feedback some folks chose to leave which was analyzed: ~15% of respondents mentioned "too much" of something (content, apps, programs etc.) was given during PD while

~45% appreciated the choice/format of the 3 days and the ability to have time to work during floater days, PLC Launch and/or EdCamp.

Big List of Speaking and Listing Techniques

When I worked with student teachers on developing effective lesson plans, one thing I always asked them to revise was the phrase “We will discuss.”

We will discuss the video.

We will discuss the story.

We will discuss our results.

Every time I saw it in a lesson plan, I would add a note: “What format will you use? What questions will you ask? How will you ensure that all students participate?” I was pretty sure that We will discuss actually meant the teacher would do most of the talking....
