Wildwood Weekly News

Principal Message
A cold winter week is now over, with plenty of inside recesses included. Our inside recesses look a little different this year with k-3 in one group and 4-6 in the other. Groups alternate between gym and classroom activities. We are not running polar bear club this year as it was being utilized by very few students.
This week we had two big Wildwood Events. The annual Christmas raffle, thank you to our School Council for organizing gifts for every student. If your student was away, we will be making sure to catch those students next week. Friday we had our annual skating and activities at the Evansburg rink. Thank you to all the parents and family members that came out. We are pleased to announce the only injuries were a ball that hit Mr. Ehnes and Mr. Stoyles' wipe out into the boards.
Report cards for term 1 are now posted to the PowerSchool Parent Portal. If you need help accessing please reach out to the office. If you need a paper copy also reach out.
We want to send a special thank you to Mr. Jim Akers and GYPSD Transportation for facilitating a bus last minute to make sure our grade 4s could make it to grandparents program despite the cold weather.
The countdown is on with 5 school days left, each one is a theme day (see poster below). We will also be having out Christmas Concert on Wednesday at 6pm.
December 16th is our next School Council Pancake Breakfast
December 17th is our Subway Hot Lunch Sponsored by Drax
December 17th is Christmas Concert @ 6pm
December 18th is our Christmas Craft Day in the afternoon
December 19th we will have our Christmas Movie Event in the afternoon.
With weather dropping into the negatives it is important that students are fully dressed for winter including gloves, hats, snow pants, and boots. Outside recess continues until we hit a combined windchill/actual temperature of -20, please dress accordingly. It is a great idea to have some extra hats and gloves included with students extra clothes in their lockers.
If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out by calling the school at 780-325-3858 or emailing me at alanstoy@gypsd.ca

FOPLS
Our students from Evansview, Wildwood, and Grand Trunk High School are coming together under one roof — and we want to make sure they have a playground that brings them together too!
The Friends of Pembina Learning Society (FOPLS) is running a raffle fundraiser to help create a fun, safe, and engaging space where kids can play, grow, and make memories for years to come.
Your support will help make this playground a place our children are proud to call their own!
