Happy Retirement & Thank you Mrs. Maddern!

Monday marks Mrs. Madden’s last day with us at Holicong! We want to thank you for over 30 years of service in education. She has served as a dedicated science teacher and contributed to Holicong in many ways, including Power of Positive Students advisor (POPS), cheerleading coach, Hallway Helpers leader, and much, much more. This year she took on a new role in 6th grade as we transitioned during the realignment, which shows her commitment to our school and focus on what is best for students. Last year, she received the Bucks County Citadel Heart of Learning Award for her work in and out of the classroom - Citadel Heart of Learning | Citadel Credit Union. Please help us in thanking Mrs. Madden tomorrow and wishing her all the best in her future endeavors. She has certainly earned it!

Announcements & Updates...

• MAGAZINE DRIVE BINGO PARTY & LINC TRIP - These events will take place this Wednesday! Thank you to all of the students who took part in this event...and the parents & family members for supporting this work as well! We promise to put the monies raised to good use as we plan student activity and community events with our Leadership team!
• CLUB FAIR - This past Friday 7th & 8th grade students viewed our promotional club fair video created by Student Leadership. 6th grade students will watch it this Friday and we wanted to post it here as well - Holicong Club Fair Video. • 6th GRADE INTRAMURALS - We are looking to kickoff intramurals for our 6th graders starting this Friday. This is a "first" for us and Ms. Camburn is working with Mr. Reed & the admin team to organize these. We plan on a soft start this Friday and will reach out to 6th grade students this week to sign up for the 1st session.
• HOLICONG HARVEST - We are excited to start this new tradition at Holicong! These type of events take all of our involvement to start off strong so please spread the word and see how you can participate!
• BREAST CANCER AWARENESS MONTH - October is breast cancer awareness month and our Student Leadership team is planning our annual pink out day. Please look for details to show how you can support this work!
• BULLYING PREVENTION MONTH - October is also bullying prevention month. Thank you to the work of our Power of Positive Students (POPS) sponsored by Ms. Bevevino & Ms. Chickanosky and the Humanitarians of Holicong sponsored by Mrs. Keyes. If you are a student interested to supporting this kind of work and bringing our community together, please reach out to them and join!
• CAMP AMERICA TEAMBUILDING - Thank you to Mrs. Bannon & Mrs. Schmitt for organizing the teambuilding activities for our 8th grade teams this week. We had great weather and the students participated in a variety of events to build community among the 8th grade students!
• CPT Connor Bednarzyk Memorial Fund | The Five Foundation - The 5 Foundation Golf Tournament was a tremendous success. The event raised thousands of dollars to further the work of the foundation as it supports current and former service members as they continue their education and grow leadership opportunities. Dr. Shillingford & Mr. Rittenhouse represented the Holicong community and had an opportunity to show our respect to the family and connect with former Holicong students & parents. • CLUBS MEETINGS - Clubs have started! Please take the opportunity to join a club or start a new one to get involved at Holicong!

• SOFT PRETZEL SALES – Starting on Tuesdays, we will be selling soft pretzels at dismissal. This is sponsored by our Student Leadership Team and we don’t raise much money from this, but we do utilize the funds for our grade level activities to support families & offset costs.
• STUDENT SERVICES PRESENTATION – Ms. Bevevino presented on behalf of the Student Services team to introduce themselves and the services the counselors provide. They also reviewed our Safe2Say, SAP, and Bullying reporting resources that are available on our website. • CERT & SAFETY - We will be conducting many of our security and safety drills this week. The safety and security of our students and staff is our primary focus at Holicong and we will be reviewing our drills on a monthly basis.

• CHIP APPLICATION & FREE and REDUCED LUNCH - We are encouraging our parents & guardians to review and complete the free and reduced or Children’s Health Insurance Program if you need financial or medical assistance. Please reach out to Mrs. Irrera if you have questions!

Students: Help CBSD “Move Forward. Imagine More.” Through Your Art!

First Submission Deadline is Oct. 15

During the 2026–27 school year, CBSD invites students to create original artwork for display on district laptops and ClearTouch panels with a focus on looking ahead with optimism, creativity, and purpose. Students are asked to think about what makes our schools special today and what is possible for tomorrow, and to capture the people, places, ideas, and experiences that inspire this year's districtwide theme “Move Forward. Imagine More." Entries are being accepted for the October contest until Oct. 15. Read more about how to enter.
