Teddy Bears, Books, and Big Smiles!
Our Transitional Kindergarteners kicked off the 2026–2027 school year with their first TK Teddy Bear Picnic!
Under gorgeous sunny skies, TK families gathered on the lawn with their favorite furry friends, cozy blankets, and packed lunches. It was a wonderful day filled with shared stories, delicious treats, and the warm buzz of our growing school community. Thank you to all the teachers who planned the event, and to the parents and loved ones who came out to picnic, read, and connect; you helped make this afternoon unforgettable for our youngest learners!
Update on BAWSI (Bay Area Women's Sports Initiative) Program
As of right now, programming is temporarily on pause. As soon as we get the green light to move forward, we will update our calendar. Thank you for your understanding, and we look forward to getting this started soon!
Empowering Student Voices: Student Council Elections Are Here!
We are thrilled to announce the official launch of our school’s Student Council! This program gives our young leaders a platform to share their ideas, build confidence, and actively serve our school community.
Students in 3rd through 5th grade who are interested in running for council will have the opportunity to prepare and deliver a short speech to their classmates. Following the speeches, each class will participate in a vote to select the peer who will represent them for the school year.
This process is a fantastic, hands-on opportunity for students to experience the democratic process in action. By drafting speeches, listening to candidates, and casting secret ballots, our students learn firsthand about civic duty, public speaking, and the power of exercising their vote, fundamental values of leadership and democracy.
Encourage your 3rd, 4th, or 5th grader to start thinking about how they can make a positive impact! Information packets and speech guidelines will be sent home with interested students this week.
Save the Date: Reclassification Celebration!
Mark Your Calendars: Fall Conference Week is Coming!
Conference Week is right around the corner, running from Monday, October 5th through Friday, October 9th.
Parent-teacher conferences are a vital part of our school year. They offer a dedicated space to connect directly with your child’s teacher, review their academic progress, celebrate their growth, and collaborate on goals for the rest of the term. Working together as a team ensures your child gets the best possible support both in the classroom and at home!
Key Information for Conference Week:
Early Dismissal: All students will be dismissed early at 11:20 AM every day (Monday – Friday).
To-Go Lunch: Grab-and-go lunches will be available for students at dismissal before they head home or to after-school care.
After-School Programs: Both KLAS and Think Together will begin immediately at the 11:20 AM dismissal time each day.
Be on the lookout for communications from your child’s teacher soon to schedule your specific conference time slot. We look forward to partnering with you!
PTA Place
A Huge Thank You for a Stellar STEAM/Back to School Picnic Night!
Thank you to all the families, students, and staff who came out to support our PTA event on Friday! It was incredible to see our campus buzzing with energy as students dived into hands-on activities across science, technology, engineering, art, and music (STEAM).
Events like this wouldn't be possible without our incredible PTA volunteers who dedicated their time and energy to plan, set up, and run such a memorable evening. We are so grateful for our vibrant school community!

Social Worker Spotlight
Greetings Families,
This week, we were able to earn our EXTRA RECESS. On Tuesday, our attendance percentage from this year was higher than last, so we earned our final step on the path towards extra recess. Students had a blast dancing to music with teachers and staff that came out to the blacktop and joined the celebration!
We will continue focusing on and highlighting attendance this month with a special artwork display in the cafeteria next week and our ATTENDANCE HEROES announced on the 30th. Keep up the great work bobcats!
