First Fun Night!
Tappan’s first Fun Night of the school year will be held Friday, Nov 21st, from 6:00-8:00pm. Fun Night is a great night for students to socialize and connect with classmates while participating in many fun activities. All students enjoy this exciting evening!
The doors will open at 6 pm for students to enter the school, and all rides should be ready to pick up students at 8 pm. All students are required to leave the school grounds after school and return for the event at 6 pm. Cost to enter the event is $5 per person. Snacks such as popcorn, pizza and pop are provided!
We are in need of many volunteers to help put on this event. If you are able to volunteer, please sign up here.
Questions can be directed to David Champion at championd@aaps.k12.mi.us.
Student Spotlight
Congratulations to the talented choir students at Tappan who have been accepted to the Michigan School Vocal Music Association 6789 State Honors Choir! To be considered, students submitted an audition video of themselves singing their part of a specific choral work, and were adjudicated based on tone, intonation, and musicianship. They will come together with other talented singers from all over Michigan to rehearse in different locations around the state on three separate Saturdays. They will perform in Grand Rapids in January at the Michigan Music Conference.
The students are: Aleena Moore, Eva Golovoy, Olivia Brady, Aubrey Moss, Molly Mural, Michael Shaefer, Jaliyah McClain, Alice Kopelman, and Ananya Iyer. (Not pictured: Sia Joshi)
Adopt a Student - Winter Giving Program
We are looking for families who are interested in adopting a Tappan student through our Winter Giving Program. This program aims to provide students in need with warm winter clothing and small holiday gifts. If you are interested, please reach out to Megan Bryant or Gwen Bonnee (emails below) for more information.
We are looking for families who are interested in adopting a Tappan student through our Winter Giving Program. This program aims to provide students in need with warm winter clothing and small holiday gifts.
If you are connected with a company (or individuals of the company) who is interested in sponsoring, please reach out. Families asking for support have provided wish lists to us, which we will provide to the adopting family to help in shopping. In the past, we have tried to spend around $150-200 per student and have aimed to get both clothing and gift items from the wish list.
Purchased items can be brought to Tappan anytime before December 15th, and we can coordinate gift pick-up with families at the school. Since we are already nearing Thanksgiving, this is time-sensitive and we are looking to make sure we have support lined up for families who have requested.
Please reach out to Megan or Gwen, we appreciate any support that can be provided!
