Professional Development Partnerships
Oceanport Staff participates annually in a variety of professional development experiences related to district, building-based, and individual achievement goals.
Oceanport School District continues its partnership with Montclair State University’s Dr. Jennifer Goeke to strengthen teacher knowledge and application of using student data to drive measurable and positive academic student change. Dr. Goeke’s work surrounding co-teaching, scaffolding, and strategies has resulted in strengthening students both academically and socially throughout selected classrooms. This partnership will continue to support collaborative learning through professional learning communities to provide appropriately rigorous and inclusive learning environments for all students in Oceanport.
The district is also working with Staff Development Workshops, Inc. to provide coaching opportunities for the grades 5-8 English language arts teachers in the areas of Readers and Writers workshop. This will assist teachers in the effective implementation of the model while also providing strategies to support students as they grow as readers and writers.
