Week Two

Good afternoon Louisburg Elementary Families,

It’s hard to believe we have already completed our first week of school! Our Mustangs worked incredibly hard as they learned new routines, began instruction, and practiced transitioning from one space to another in one minute or less. Efficient transitions help us protect valuable instructional time and keep learning at the center of our day. We also successfully completed our first fire drill and bus safety drill. We are so proud of our students and all they accomplished during Week One!

Students Have a Voice!

We are always looking for ways for our students to participate and feel connected to our school community. Last week, students in grades 1–5 voted for our new school bell sound. Winning by 47 votes was the gong! Thank you to all of our students who cast a vote and used their voices to help make a school-wide decision.

Welcoming Our Youngest Mustangs

This week, we are excited to welcome even more Mustangs!

Kindergarten begins its first full day on Monday, August 31. We can’t wait to welcome our kindergarteners as they begin building the foundation for their educational journey.

Pre-K begins staggered entry on Tuesday, September 1, with their first full day on Thursday, September 3.

📅 Mark Your Calendars

There will be No School Monday, September 7, in observance of Labor Day.

We hope you’ll join us for our Title I Night on Tuesday, September 8, from 5:30–6:45 p.m. More information will be shared soon!

Every Minute Counts!

As a reminder, students should arrive at school by 7:45 a.m. to avoid being marked tardy. Instruction begins promptly following announcements at 7:48 a.m.

We also want families to be aware that students arriving late must be at school by 10:56 a.m. to be counted present for the day. Students who need to leave early must remain at school until 10:54 a.m. to be counted present.

Student attendance, including late arrivals and early dismissals, is an important focus for us this year. Every minute of learning matters, and we want our Mustangs here and ready to learn!

Mustang Spirit Wear

Don’t forget to order your LES spirit wear! The online store is open through Friday, September 11. All purchases are made online and orders are shipped directly to your home. We can’t wait to see our Mustangs showing off their new LES gear!
