JOMO Parent Engagement Night – September 14 @ 7:00 pm
Is digital wellness an area of concern in your home? Are you feeling uncertain how to balance the benefits of technology with the challenges it brings? Us, too!
Next year, SCE and SCS are introducing the JOMO (The Joy of Missing Out) program to our classrooms. The JOMO program encourages digital wellness and equips schools to lead students toward healthy tech habits and Christ-centered living—through meaningful lessons, coaching, and a supportive community of practice. We are so excited for this initiative and have many awesome opportunities ahead for your children.
All SCE and SCS parents are invited to join us for the JOMO Parent Engagement evening on September 14 at SCA Secondary. Our goal for this evening is to help you feel equipped in making tech-wise decisions that align with your family’s values. We’ll also be sharing all the exciting ways JOMO will foster greater connection within our schools. Our desire is to work as a community to embrace ‘The Joy of Missing Out’ and live the abundant life God has for us.
Those who attend the evening have the chance to win some amazing prizes that will create opportunities for family connection -- think restaurant gift cards, experiences, board games, etc. Guest speakers include Mrs. Matheson (SCS Counsellor), Jamie Gaida (SPAC Youth Pastor/Campus Pastor), Constable Sherri-Lee Smith (RCMP, School Resource Officer) and Family and Community Services. And in true SCA fashion, Miss Higgs will provide some delicious desserts for all us adults to connect over.
We look forward to this fun night to connect and engage as a community. No need to RSVP, but please bring your friends!

2025–26 EIPS Annual Feedback Surveys: For Parents and Caregivers and For Students – Results now available
The results of the 2025–26 EIPS Annual Feedback Surveys: For Parents and Caregivers and For Students are now available. In March, the Division conducted the annual surveys, which help EIPS gauge its progress toward meeting the goals and priorities outlined in its Four-Year Education Plan. Families and grades 9 and 12 students were asked a series of questions about their experiences with EIPS and their school, the overall performance of the Division, the quality of education being provided to students and areas for improvement.
Thank you to all families and students who took the time to share their feedback with the Division. Overall, the surveys received approximately 1,600 responses from parents and caregivers and more than 2,000 responses from grades 9 and 12 students across EIPS. The Division, and schools, will now review the feedback in detail and use it to develop new strategies to serve students and the wider community better.

Bicycle Theft Prevention – A Message from Your School Resource Officer
With warmer weather here and more students riding their bikes to school, now is a great time to take a few simple steps to protect your bicycle from theft.
Students and families are encouraged to:
- Always lock bikes using a quality lock, even for short periods.
- Record the bike’s make, model, and serial number.
- Take a photo of the bike and note any unique features or markings.
- Register bikes for free through Bike Index to help police identify and return recovered bicycles.
Attached is a Bicycle Theft Prevention brochure and Bike ID Card that families can use to record important information. Keeping this information handy can make a significant difference if a bike is ever lost or stolen.
Stay safe, lock it up, and enjoy the ride! 🚲🔒
