Updated Immunization Requirements
Attention 7th-grade families: Don’t forget — Tdap vaccinations are required for all students in 7th grade. Please submit an updated vaccination record to Nurse Johnson as soon as possible.

Definition: Using way more words than necessary.
Synonyms: wordy, long-winded, rambling
Antonyms: concise, brief, succinct
Example: His story was so verbose, and because of that it took him forever to get to the point.
October 20: Serendipity
Definition: A lucky surprise or happy accident.
Synonyms: luck, fortune, fluke
Antonyms: misfortune, bad luck, unluckiness
- Example: It was pure serendipity that I found $7 in my coat pocket on Kona Ice Day!
October 27: Brouhaha
Definition: A noisy, excited fuss—often over something small.
Synonyms: commotion, uproar, hubbub
Antonyms: calm, peace, order
Example: There was a big brouhaha in the lunchroom when someone spilled a milk carton.

Friday: Great Shakeout Earthquake Drill
The Great Shakeout Earthquake Drill will be held on Friday!
The Great Shakeout is a nationwide event! NEMS will be participating this Friday. This is a national event that is sponsored by FEMA, USGA, and the National Science Foundation.

October 31 @ 6 pm: Trunk or Treat at Silver Bluff
Silver Bluff High School has their last football game, Senior Night on Halloween Night, October 31, 2025. Student Government is hosting Trunk or Treat that night from 6-7 pm, right before the game starts at 7:30 pm. Please share this flyer with your students and staff! We would love to see everyone there! A game ticket must be purchased for game entry, but the Trunk or Treat is free!

Want to make car line go faster? A sign with your child or family's last name would help tremendously! Prop it up on your dash, use a pants hanger to hang from your rear view mirror, or wave it out the window like you're on ESPN Game Day. It will be at least a month before we have your vehicle and all your relatives' vehicles memorized.
