We are off to a great start at Meadowview! Students are learning new routines and building relationships with their new teachers and classmates! Responsibility is our theme of the month, and we’ve already seen so many examples of our MVE Tigers taking care of their own responsibilities, one another, and our school. Keep up the great work, Meadowview Students!

MVES PTP Meeting
Late Arrivals in the Morning
Students arriving after the 7:40 bell will need to be signed in at the office by a parent or guardian. This is very important with our new secured entrance to ensure that all students get into the building safely. If you know in advance that your child will be late due to a pre-arranged appointment, please call the attendance line at 651-460-3105 or submit the late arrival on our attendance form prior to 7:00 am on the day of the late arrival.
Attendance is an important part of your child’s education. For more info about routines to support positive attendance habits, please see the attached document from Dakota County. Attendance Works
Please note that the curb along the front of the building is a “No Parking” zone so our buses can load and unload without obstruction. Parents who choose to drop-off and pick-up their children on the east side of the building are asked to park their cars in the parking lot and walk their children to and from the building. Your child’s safety is our main priority.
Annual Update of Information! IMPORTANT FOR ALL!
Please take a few minutes and complete the Annual Update that can be found on the Parent Portal on Infinite Campus. The Annual Update can be found by selecting the three bars in the upper left corner, selecting More, and Annual Update is on the bottom of the page.
You will go through all of the information that is currently in our system. This includes parent information, emergency contacts, and student and health information. Many of the questions will not need updating (home language, internet use, etc.) however you will need to complete each section, making necessary updates, to reach the end.
The system will send you an email confirmation when you have completed the Annual Update
Talking Points - PLEASE READ!
Beginning October 19th, parents will need to have the Talking Points app downloaded on their phones in order to see messages from their child’s teacher. This is new for this school year.
Here are directions for downloading Talking Points, using it to read and send messages, and turning on notifications for the app.

Summer Reading Raffle Reminder!
Preventing the "summer slide" phenomenon!
We hope everyone had a fantastic summer filled with great books! This is a friendly reminder to turn in your Summer Reading Raffle Slips by Wednesday, September 11th.
How it works:
Students fill out one raffle slip for every book they read over the summer or every book they read together with someone!
Pick up additional slips from the table by the front office.
Turn in all completed slips to your child's teacher or the front office by Friday, September 11th.
The Big Drawing: Mark your calendars! We will draw the lucky winners on Monday, September 14th, and give out prizes to our eager readers.
Thank you for supporting your child's reading journey this summer.

Attendance Tip!
Getting to school on time is just as important as being at school. Research shows that continued tardiness leads to poor attendance. Many of the most important parts of a student's day happen within the first 15 minutes. This is often when they have a time to socialize with their peers, orient themselves for the day, take care of necessary business, and connect with their teacher before the day starts. Never underestimate the power of the first 15 minutes of school!
End of Day Routine
Please make sure your child's teacher has an accurate, up-to-date plan for your child's dismissal at the end of the day.
When changes are needed, please communicate those changes with your child's teacher prior to the start of the school day. We cannot always guarantee teachers will see emails during the work day (as it depends on the activities they have planned with the students).
For EMERGENCY CHANGES, please communicate with the teacher and call the front office no later than 2pm. Changes to end of day routines are difficult for students and teachers. If at all possible please change YOUR routine instead of your students routine.
BPA Shoe Drive
Business Professionals of America is a high school club and we are partnering with Funds2Org, to collect shoes for a fundraiser. Funds 2 Org will pay BPA a small rate for each pound of shoes and bring them to shop owners in poor areas around the globe to provide jobs and income for families in poverty.
By contributing to the Shoe Drive you can clean out your closets of old used shoes and teach your learners about charity and recycling. The drive benefits BPA by paying for its club fees, it benefits the environment by giving shoes a second life, and benefits poor communities by bringing a source of income to those in need!
Meadowview has 2 drop off boxes within our atrium!
