PRINCIPAL GREETING
Good afternoon families,
Today was a great day!
Our 10th and 11th graders showed their focus and grit in completing our PSAT.
Our seniors got to hear from our distinguished Northern Alumni and learn more about their experiences both at Northern and in life. Thank you to the following alumni who served as panelists.
Bonnie Goldman ‘68 (HOF inductee 2025)
Ken Blackmon ‘85 (HOF inductee 2025)
Brian Wolverton ‘88 (HOF inductee 2016)
Rose Robson ‘05

Finally, our freshmen began the day learning about Naviance and the start of the college planning process from our counselors. Afterwards, they attended an assembly from the Burlington County Prosecutor's Office regarding their digital footprint and how it follows them through their life.
Thank you for your continued partnership,

Lost and Found
If your child is missing an item, particularly a piece of clothing or a water bottle, please encourage them to check the lost and found. The article, “10 Questions to Ask Your Kid Besides “How was School?” from Time Magazine on September 10, 2025 is really insightful to the reality of parenting. The author, Angela Haupt, paints the picture of the typical exchange after school of parents asking about their kid’s day and getting the famous “good”, “fine” or “ok" answer. Haupt suggests that when you first see your child, instead of asking them about their day, to just tell them you are happy to see them or ask about food, as they are most likely hungry. She mentions using these 10 thoughtful alternatives, (not every one every day), that have a much better chance of getting to know the inner workings of your child’s life and mind. She also suggests asking these later in the night as your child may be more talkative. Here is a sneak peek at some of the questions:
Tell me something that made you feel anxious or worried today. How did you handle it?
What was something kind you did or saw?
Is there anything you are nervous about for tomorrow?
When did you feel the most bored?
What made you smile today? Is there anything from your day you want some help with?
Each question explains how you can elaborate on it with more suggestions of what to say. For the complete article click on this link: https://time.com/7315031/what-to-ask-your-kid-school-day-parents/
