A Message from Ms. Brown:
Dear Lamar Parents,
I hope you enjoyed your weekend. Next weekend will be a three-day weekend due to Labor Day. As a result, the newsletter will come out on Monday, September 7th. I know we are all looking forward to an extra day. As we ready for the week, please take time to read the message and peruse the flyers, calendar, etc., so you are aware of what's coming up and happening at Lamar. Thanks for partnering with us to make this year the best it can be. See you in the morning!
Grade Level Newsletters: Updated Information:
In an attempt to better inform you about what your student is learning, your student's grade level will be sending newsletters out to you two times a month. You can expect them to come via email on the first and third Friday of each month. You should have received one on Friday, August 21st. If you did not receive this communication, please reach out directly to your student's teacher. The next newsletter will go out on Friday, September 4, 2026.

Read-A-Thon is Coming!
Lamar Elementary PTO has decided to hold a Read-A-Thon this year!
Read-A-Thons actually get your reader excited about reading and it gives friends and family the opportunity to encourage your child to read even more.
Our Read-A-Thon starts Friday September 4, 2026.
About one week before our Read-A-Thon starts we will send home instructions on how to activate your reader's personal page. This is where you will be able to view and record their progress.
We encourage you to activate your reader’s account today by clicking on https://www.read-a-thon.com/readers/r/323339363438/1?utm=email and following the simple instructions.
We've chosen Read-A-Thon because it will not take much of your time, gives your child a reason to read and helps in the development of stronger reading skills.
We hope EVERYONE participates.
Thanks so much,
Lamar Elementary PTO
