Good Morning,

Welcome Back!

We’re excited to welcome all of our new and returning students and families to the start of a wonderful new school year! Our PreK Center is nearly ready to open its doors, and our dedicated custodial team is working hard to make sure the building is sparkling clean, welcoming, and fully prepared for our students and staff.

This is the first of two August newsletters designed to provide families with important information and helpful reminders as you prepare for the start of the school year. We hope these newsletters will help you feel informed, prepared, and excited for all that the year ahead has to offer!

Some Important Information:

Welcome Back letters were mailed to all families in early July. These letters included key information such as:

  • Parent and student orientation dates

  • Tuition agreements

  • Student schedules

  • Teacher assignments

  • First week of school details

If you did not receive your letter, please contact us as soon as possible so we can ensure you have all the information you need.

Important Dates: As part of the 2026–2027 PreK school year, all families are required to attend the following:

Parent Orientation Meeting - Wednesday, September 2, 2026 at 6:30 p.m.: Parents will hear about expectations, procedures, and protocols for returning to school, complete required emergency contact paperwork, meet your child’s teacher and have the opportunity to see our classrooms and ask questions. This evening is for parents only. We ask families to log into ASPEN and update your contacts between August 26th and September 1st.

Student Orientation - Thursday, September 3, 2026 (see your child's letter for the orientation time): This is a special time for you and your preschooler to see the classroom, meet the teacher, listen to a story and do a fun activity. We ask that you do not bring siblings to this event as this is a special time for you and your preschooler.

Positive Solutions for Families - Wednesday, September 30 at 6:30 p.m. OR October 7 at 6:30 p.m (select one night to attend) :

This required night is for parents/caregivers only. Positive behavior strategies used at school can be successfully carried over at home. We will discuss ways to help children recognize and manage their emotions, develop coping skills, and reduce challenging behaviors through consistent routines, clear expectations, and supportive strategies.

We hope to see many of you there!

All About WECC Drop Off / Parking / Pick Up Information

Below: An aerial map of our building to guide you through arrival and dismissal procedures. Please review carefully to ensure a smooth and safe experience for all students and families.

As a reminder, please keep the following in mind during dismissal:

As we welcome everyone back to WECC, please be mindful of our neighbors on Academy Avenue. Please do not block driveways, box in vehicles, or otherwise prevent our neighbors from accessing their homes.

*(Please note that additional signage is currently being developed to clearly identify where families may and may not park on Academy Ave. We will share more information as it becomes available.)

  • Do not park on the crosswalk on Academy Ave.
  • Do not park on the corner of the school driveway, as our vans need clear access to enter and exit. Parking here can create a bottleneck.

  • The lower lot at Town Hall is not available for family parking; however, the upper lot may be used. (the lot closest to WECC)

  • Please closely supervise your child and hold their hand when walking through parking lots or crossing the street.

  • Students should not climb the chain link fence.

  • Only families with a handicap placard may enter the WECC main lot. Once in the main lot, please wait for a staff member to remove the orange cones before exiting. We do not want cars moving as families are walking to their cars when in the parking lot.

The safety of our students and families remains our top priority. We appreciate your cooperation and consideration as we work together to ensure that drop-off and pick-up are safe, smooth, and respectful for everyone. Thank you for helping us be good neighbors and for being a valued part of the WECC community!

No Parking Zones

  • Town Hall Lot: The lower lot closest to Town Hall is closed to WECC families. Please do not park there during pick-up and drop-off times as it is for Town Hall business only.

  • WECC Lot: There is no parking in the WECC lot (lot closest to door #7) during drop-off or pick-up times unless you have a handicap placard. Student arrival and dismissal takes place in the parking lot.

Driveway Access & Parking

  • The driveway (horseshoe) is outlined in blue on the map.

  • All vehicles must enter single file into the horseshoe.

  • When parking, please pull all the way around to the farthest available spot on the right-hand side to allow as many families as possible to park behind you.

Student Drop-Off & Pick-Up

  • All students must be walked to Door #7, the front entrance of WECC.

  • Staff members will be outside to greet students and families during arrival and dismissal.

  • Designated staff will be at pick-up points at dismissal time, so you’ll always know where to meet your child.

Handicap Parking

The parking lot directly in front of the WECC entrance is reserved for families needing handicap access, only.

Tuition:
  • The second tuition payment is due September 1st.

  • Tuition is an annual fee, with the option for families to divide the total into 10 monthly payments. The final tuition payment will be due on May 1, 2027.

  • Families may submit tuition payments in the lock box located at the front entrance of WECC.

  • When submitting a check or money order, please make sure the envelope or check is clearly labeled with your child’s name. Please do not place cash in the lock box.

  • If you need to pay with cash, please visit the front office between 8:35 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. Thank you for your attention to these payment procedures.

Change of Address:

It is important that we have your correct contact information! Please email Mrs. Clancy within 5 days of a change of address or change of telephone number. This information is important for communication. Kristen.clancy@weymouthps.org
