Crisafulli School News
November 6, 2026
Dear JAC Families,
It was a pleasure to see our JAC families during our Parent/Teacher Conferences this week. We are thankful to Mrs. Magovern for bringing back lala books for our JAC Book Fair. Our students and staff enjoyed shopping for books and chatting about good book recommendations.
We have enjoyed visiting the classrooms and seeing our OpenSciEd curriculum in full swing. We observed students building structures that required balance, utilizing their engineering skills and students observing nurse logs while learning about habitats. The students have been sharing their thoughts about their scientific investigations and enjoying the hands-on activities.
Enjoy the weekend!

Spirit Calls
Thank you to the fantastic students who earned SPIRIT coupons this week for making our school a better place!
Thank you to the large group of students who helped us set up and clean up after Bingo Night. Your hard work made a big difference! Way to help the community.
A student stepped in to help another student who was having trouble with directions. She did this without a teacher prompt, and when she thought no one was looking.
After their snack break, a teacher noticed pieces of apple on the floor under a table and asked for help cleaning it up. While many students argued that it wasn't theirs, one student immediately jumped up and cleaned it up, despite it not being hers. She is always willing to help out and models support and teamwork every day. Thank you!
A student was leading her line to recess and stopped to let another class go first. What a kind and respectful thing to do. You made their day. Keep being amazing!
During snack, two students were eating popcorn and ended up with a lot spilled on the floor. Another student noticed this and ran to get a broom and dust pan. He told the other students not to worry, he would take care of it. It showed such kindness and teamwork. Great work!
A student was a big help cleaning up the classroom. Thank you for doing such an amazing job! We appreciate your caring about our classroom and classmates!
A student helped a friend that was using crutches carry her library books.
Today in class, a class was working on division problems. Even though a student expressed that the problems were challenging, he stuck with it and was very successful. His teacher was so proud of his perseverance and determination.
A student is always respectful and helpful in the cafe. She noticed a roll on the floor and helped by picked it up and threw it away without being asked.

RSBC: ELEMENTARY BUILDING PROJECT UPDATE
Another milestone- site selection! On October 27, the Robinson School Building Committee voted to move forward with the Abbot School site. We now know that whatever the final design looks like, this project will involve closing Robinson, it will serve grades PK–5, and be located at Abbot. Its central location keeps school boundaries (redistricting) more balanced than Farmer Way, which sits in the northern part of town and would have served students from the far south while nearby families were assigned to other schools.
Next, the committee is taking a closer look at the existing Abbot building. The committee learned that any reuse of that building will require major code upgrades; there is no low-cost way to keep it in service, whether as town/school offices or as school space. The real choices are to invest in it, leave it vacant, or demolish it, and all three are being studied. If Abbot needs investment either way, the question is how to get the most value from that investment for the town. Save the date for our next community forums on Tuesday, November 17, at 6:30 PM (Stony Brook Middle School and Zoom) or Friday, November 20, at noon (Zoom only). Details at robinsonschoolproject.com.
