Dear LPS Families,

Today, we conducted our first fire drill of the school year, and our students did an amazing job! All students and staff safely cleared the building in just 2 minutes and 38 seconds. That is incredibly impressive and reflects how seriously our students followed directions and safety procedures.

This week, we will also begin NWEA MAP testing. MAP is an adaptive assessment that adjusts questions based on each student’s responses. It helps teachers better understand each student’s current academic strengths and identify areas for continued growth. Teachers will use these results to plan instruction and provide targeted support throughout the year.

As a friendly reminder, there will be no school this Friday or Monday. We are now beginning our regular four-day school week.

This is a one stop shop! You can report your child's absence and you can upload any doctor notes. If you have any questions, please reach out to Desiree Carroll, our attendance clerk at Desiree.Carroll@lpsfrisco.com.

**Any student who attends Dual Credit classes will attend your dual credit class at your assigned time. Even if you miss part of your MAP test, we will pull you at a different time to finish if needed.

If you are late arrival or early release, please do your best to attend your classes during the assigned time, but if you can't due to work obligations, please let your AP know, and you will be excused from the class. If you have questions about your schedule, please go to your grade level AP, and they will be able to answer your specific question.

The start of the 2026 fall season of LPS Esports is right around the corner! The first round of tryouts for LPS Esports will be happening from August 27th-28th, and the second round will run from September 1st-3rd.

Each day of tryouts will begin after school, in Mr. Dubose’s room (239). Tryouts will be run from 4:30-5:30 each day, but please note that some tryouts may take longer to be fully completed so please be patient.

• Chick-fil-a will be offered on Thursdays 9/3, 9/10, 9/17 & 9/24
• Dillas will be offered on FRIDAY 9/11
