Additionally, the building’s heating and ventilation system has been fully upgraded, and for the first time our school is now air conditioned!

We’re excited to welcome families to Northern’s Open House on Thursday, September 11, 2025, from 6:00–8:00 PM!
Due to construction at all of our elementary schools, this event will take the place of the traditional “Back-to-School/Open House” held before the first day of school. Busing Information
Lincoln Public Schools Busing Information
- All bus route information will be posted on the Lincoln Public Schools website as we get closer to the first day of school. Families will be able to view both Northern AM and Northern PM bus routes there. We encourage you to check the site before the first day so your child is ready for a smooth start to the year!
- Please contact the bus company, First Student, directly with any questions or concerns at (401) 334-0565.
- Please be advised of potential bus delays and route adjustments during the first few weeks of school. The Northern staff will make every effort to minimize issues related to transportation and will do our best to ensure the safe ridership of our students. Any late bus incidents will be communicated to parents quickly via Skyward.
Helpful tips for bus riders and families:
- It is critical that all students ride their assigned bus route each day. Please note: students can not change bus routes.
- Please be patient as we work to ensure that EVERY child gets on the right bus in the afternoon during the first few weeks of school .
Bus Incident Flow Chart
- Parents please review below the Bus Incident Flow Chart for Lincoln Public Schools.
Parent Drop Off and Pick Up
K–5 Parent Drop-Off & Pick-Up
To our returning families, we will be following the same Parent Drop-Off and Pick-Up procedures as last year. Faculty will be on hand daily to assist and ensure a safe, smooth process for everyone.
K-5 Drop-Off (8:40–8:50 AM)
- Enter the driveway from New River Road and drive through the parking lot. Continue down the hill to the area behind the school and line up in three rows at the lower playground/recess area. Wait for staff to dismiss each row safely before exiting.
- When leaving the loading area, drive straight out the same way you entered. DO NOT enter the upper bus area - this area is for buses only.
- Arrivals after 8:50 AM: park in front, escort child inside, and sign in at the office.
PreK Community Peers:
Drop-off begins at 9:00 AM in the upper bus circle. Please note that no cars will be allowed into the upper bus circle before this time to allow buses to arrive safely.
Pick-Up (3:10 PM)
-
Line up on New River Road; buses enter first.
- Staff will direct cars into the lot once buses have cleared. Families are to travel through the driveway and proceed down the hill to the area behind the school. Vehicles should line up in three rows at the lower playground/recess area. Wait for direction from staff.
- Walkers are dismissed and signed out by parent/guardian from Nurse’s door.
-
Reminder: Placards are required for all families (and will be sent home the first week of school). For ease of car loading, please be sure to display these on your dashboard daily for quick identification!!
