College Prep Parent Newsletter, October 18, 2026 College Prep Parent Newsletter, October 18, 2026

Welcome to Week 10, Centaur Families!

Last week, we celebrated the end of Quarter 1 with a special surprise from our admin team for scholars and teachers! Help your scholar work toward future celebrations by encouraging daily attendance, completing classwork and homework, wearing their full uniform, and making positive choices to earn PBIS points.

This week, we invite scholars to bring a photo or a small item honoring a loved one who has passed away. These meaningful tributes will be displayed on our ofrenda bulletin board and tables near the front office as we celebrate and remember their lives

How You Can Support This Week: Please ensure your scholar attends school every day to make the most of valuable learning time. Q1 Progress Report Card Pick Up is Tuesday October 20. If you received an invitation for a Parent Teacher Conference, please make sure to support your scholar in attending.

📆 Upcoming Reminders:

  • Wednesdays in October: Wear pink for Breast Cancer Awareness Month or a full school uniform. This is not a free dress day.

  • October 20 & 22: Mock TELPAS testing for participating scholars in Grades 6-12

  • October 26–30: Red Ribbon Week!

Thank you for partnering with us to help every Centaur thrive! đź’™

October is National Bullying Prevention Month

At HP, we are committed to creating a safe, welcoming, and supportive learning environment for every student. All children deserve to feel respected, valued, and free from bullying.

Throughout October, our students will have the opportunity to participate in activities that promote kindness, respect, and empathy. These conversations empower students to recognize bullying, speak up, and stand together in support of one another.

At IDEA HP, we have strong protocols in place to address bullying:

  • Reporting: Students are encouraged to speak with a teacher, counselor, or administrator if they experience or witness bullying. Families may also report concerns directly to campus leadership. For reporting, please contact Ms. Mingo, Assistant Principal of Instruction or Executive Principal Dr. James Pasto.
  • Support: Our Student Success Advisor (Ms. Rodriguez) works with students to ensure their voices are heard and their needs are met. To request services, please submit your request via the SAF button found below.

  • Action: Reports made are taken seriously and investigated promptly. We are committed to resolving student and parent concerns.

We encourage families to partner with us by continuing these conversations at home. Talking openly with your child about kindness, respect, and advocacy for others reinforce our campus efforts.
