Creekwood ECC Chat
February, 2025
This month is all about the love! ❤ Our students will be learning about how we make friends and how to be a good friend to others. We will also celebrate our similarities and differences. Ask your child what things they are learning about how to be a good friend!
By this time of the school year, pre-k students should be gaining more independence, and we are working on this with the students. You can help your child become more independent at home by practicing the following skills: when exiting the building, let your child walk out carrying their own backpack, lunchbox, etc., dressing/undressing themself (including coats), give your child options for food (snacks) and clothes, encourage toileting and self-care independence such as brushing own teeth, bathing, brushing hair, picking up toys, opening own containers and feeding self with utensils, putting shoes on correctly, and give age-appropriate daily chores.

Hearts Around the World
Our school has a fun Valentine activity during the month of February. We are asking for friends and family to send in Valentines from all over the US and the world! We will be tracking where our Valentines have come from and placing them on a map!
BA License Plates
Thanks to the dedication of BAHS alum Parker Wagnon, you’ll soon be seeing BAPS license plates on the road, and you can be part of the fun! The cost is $41.15, with $20 of that amount directly benefiting the district. Complete the online application today to show your BA Spirit all around town!
Book Fair 📚
Make plans to attend our spring book fair during the week of February 24-28. The book fair is only open during dismissal from 2:20-2:50 each day, however, it will be open during Family Engagement Night on Thursday, February 27 from 6:00-7:30!
Illness Protocol
We have seen a great deal of sickness lately at school, including the Flu, COVID, Strep, and other bacterial and viral illnesses. If your child is not feeling well it is best to keep them home until they are ready to participate in all the pre-k learning activities. We ask that you monitor your child daily for stuffy/runny nose, fever, headache/tummy aches, ear and throat pain, or other symptoms of illness.
If your child is sick, they must be fever-free, and no diarrhea or vomiting for at least 24 hours without the use of medications before they can return to school.
If you take your child to the doctor, be sure to get a school note from the doctor's office and bring it to the school office so we can note it in our system.
Please encourage your child to wash their hands frequently, and be sure they are getting the proper amount of sleep at night, drinking plenty of water, and eating nutritious foods during this time.
We appreciate your help in keeping the germs from spreading!
If your child will be staying home for any reason (illness or other), please contact the school as early as possible to let us know.
