Come out and cheer your child(ren) on and help them raise money for the PTA and the many initiatives they support in the school. It should be a great day! Below is the schedule for the classes and when they run.

Movie Night

This Friday, October 2nd, is the annual Randolph Heights movie night. Come one, come all to the playground at 7:00 p.m. Bring a blanket and a chair and enjoy "Honey I Shrunk the Kids" under the open sky! There will be popcorn and other snacks for sale with the proceeds going to the P.E. department.

Volunteers

If you are interested in volunteering at school or chaperoning a field trip with your child, you will need to have a background check completed and on file with the district before you can volunteer. Please contact your child's teacher and they will help you navigate the process. Each background check is only good for one year. If you have completed one in the past, please do not use the same link as the past. There is a new process this year and using a link from the past will not connect the background with you.

Picture Day

Picture Day is coming on Wednesday, October 7!

You can place your order on mylifetouch.com using your Picture Day ID: EVTSTX6T4. Order before midnight on Picture Day to get FREE shipping!

Your child can also bring their completed flyer with cash or check on Picture Day. Orders after Picture Day must be placed online on mylifetouch.com

Davanni's Fundraiser

This is a reminder to all families that our 5th graders are hosting a fund-raiser for their Eagle Bluff field trip Monday at Davanni's. Anyone dining in, or ordering out between 4:00 and 8:00 can have 20% of their purchase go towards the Randolph Heights field trip. Simply tell your server you are there for the fund raiser and they will credit the 5th grade class. It's a great way to support the exciting learning opportunity for the 5th graders and get a great meal at the same time!

Attendance Matters!

With the fall and winter weather approaching, it is a great time to remind everyone about sickness, attendance and the importance of both in school. Knowing the importance of attendance in school and how much it can predict success, we want to make sure students are here consistently. It is also important to help mitigate sickness in school by following the guidelines below.

When is sick too sick for school?

Send me to school if...

I have a runny nose or just a little cough, but no other symptoms.
I have not had a fever overnight and have not taken fever reducing medicine during that time.
I have a mild stomach ache.
I have not thrown up overnight and can drink liquids without throwing up.
I have a mild rash and no other symptoms.
I have eye drainage without fever, eye pain or eyelid redness.

Keep me at home if...

I have a temperature higher than 100.4.
I have thrown up two or more times in the last 24 hours.
My stool is watery and I may not make it to the bathroom in time.

Refer to the above rules as a guideline for you and your child. Remember, attendance is critical for success in school!

School Directory

The PTA school directory is now officially closed. It will be finalized and sent out to families next week.

Dental Clinic

Children's Dental Services clinic opportunity:

CDS will be holding a clinic at Randolph Heights, open to all ages, on our conference prep day, Friday, October 30th. We would love to see the day filled! Appointments are preferred, but they will have some room for walk-ins. Children's Dental Services has interpreters who can talk to families in their home language and can help families who qualify connect to insurance.

Call or email me with any questions. I am hoping we can do this again during spring conferences. Thanks! Teresa Eide, School Nurse, 651-888-7658/ teresa.eide@spps.org

Walk, Bike and Roll to School!

October Walk, Bike and Roll to School day:

Randolph Heights will celebrate Walk, Bike, and Roll to School Day on Wednesday, October 7th.

Join us in celebrating Walk, Bike, and Roll to School Day onOctober 7th. We encourage all students and families to walk, bike, or roll to school that day if you can. Families who drive can park a few blocks away and walk the rest of the way to school to join in the fun. Teachers at school will also take their class for a walk during the day if the weather permits. If you can’t walk or bike to school, consider celebrating with a family walk or bike ride after school!

Walking and biking are fun, healthy, and climate-friendly ways to get to school. We hope you can join in our celebration!
