PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE - Mr. Goodrich
Nederland Middle-Senior HS Community,
We had a great day up at Eldora today. The management of Eldora have been great partners each year. In addition to supporting our annual Ski Day, Eldora supports the school through their use of our parking lot on the weekends during ski season. They pay to use the lots and the school receives the funds, which we use to help run the school. We really appreciate the partnership.
Enjoy your spring break and March Madness. Stay safe and have fun.
Have a great Spring Break,
Gavan

SAT/PSAT Testing Guides: State testing planning for April is underway. Recently Ms. Jill met with high school students to talk about the upcoming exams. The PSAT prepares students in the 09th and 10th grades to take a future SAT. SAT stands for Scholastic Assessment Test. It's a standardized test that measures a student's readiness for college. In 11th grade students will take an April SAT. The SAT is widely used for college admissions in the United States. Students at Nederland High are already registered, and their April exam cost is covered. These exams will occur the week of April 14th (dates and time details to follow). Parents can find more about the exam information on the College Board website. Student study guides are available or students can practice skills through their Bluebook app or Khan Academy.

Musical Theater: Hadestown
Hadestown: Teen Edition written by Anais Mitchell is a beautiful and tragic story that follows Orpheus on a journey to the underworld to rescue his beloved Eurydice. We meet Hades and Persephone as they try to mend a strained and decaying relationship. We are introduced to The Fates who are ever present controllers of destiny, and the workers who represent the common man and are essential to the musical's themes of labor and rebellion. This tragic musical not only retells the Greek myth in a new and vibrant form, but it is a strong commentary on the state of our current world and what it means to make sacrifices and face adversity and to dream of a better world.
