Cornwall School News 5/8/26
Message from the Principal
Today during a game of kickball, I was asked to hold an enormous bouquet of dandelions for Ms. Burns-Collins while the flower gatherer was up at βbatβ. It was a fitting representation of the tremendous outpouring of student and family appreciation for our educator this week. Your heartfelt notes, flowers, the decadent lunch, a decadent coffee and tea service and soooo many pastries and treats were a testament to your support for our staff.
I feel so lucky to be part of this exceptionally supportive community, and I that so many of our Cornwall educators do, too. We felt the love. Thank you, thank you, thank you.πππ
With gratitude,
Nadya

Summer School Update
Resources that we have used in the past to offer summer programming at multiple ACSD schools will be more directly focused toward providing academic supports where needed this summer. We are looking into ways to provide academic support opportunities for students from multiple schools at a central location. District leaders are actively working on this planning.
This means that we will not be able to offer the Cornwall summer program in the format that we have for the last few years.
If your student is a candidate for additional summer academic supports, we will reach out when we have more details.

Snapshots from Cornwall School
5th Grade Exhibition
This week, our 5th graders completed and presented their 5th Grade Exhibition projects. 5th Grade Exhibition is an important part of our International Baccalaureate (IB) Primary Years Program (PYP). This "capstone" project that celebrates everything they have learned during their learning at Cornwall School. It is a student-led, collaborative inquiry process. Students identified a real-world issue they are passionate about, and conducted research. This week they presented that learning to our school community, families, and other invited guests. It. Was. Magical.
We're so proud of our students' hard work, careful research, deep thinking, and collaboration with each other and with community partners. Their communication skills were on full display as they formally presented their work to a packed room, as well as more informally to each of our classroom groups.
5th graders celebrated today, as they prepared mentally for the Keewaydin Environmental Education Center (KEEC) adventure next week. We look forward to learning more about the steps they will take to make a difference when they return!
