HAPPY FALL Y'ALL!!
We welcome the Fall/Autumn season, the crisp, cool weather, the changing colors of the leaves and all the family fun we have planned during October. October brings the last part of Hispanic Heritage month and plans for the Judy Center to join SMS for a wonderful Hispanic Heritage celebration. Historically, the Judy Center has provided a station with games and a bag of spanish candies and toys for all children in attendance. This has always proven to be a great time to meet new families and their young children residing in the community. We hope to see you at this incredible event in October.
Please join us in playgroup at the various new times and sessions targeting specific age groups as our playgroup has grown so large. To accommodate the growing playgroup, we will now host one monthly late afternoon session, and three weekly daytime sessions. We are also "kicking off" the year with a new curriculum from Learning Beyond Paper and will be introducing "ABC Edibles" from the University of Maryland SNAP-Ed. Program. Future Pre-K playgroup friends will taste a new fruit or vegetable during their sessions, associated with a specific letter from the alphabet. Lots of exciting changes in 2024-2025!!
Beginning October 1st, two playgroup sessions will be held every Tuesday. The groups will be divided by age and targeted lessons. The playgroup for "Future Pre-K" aged children will be held on Tuesday from 9 am - 10 am. A playgroup for "Older Toddlers/Soon to be Three's" will be held every Tuesday from 10:30 - 11:30 am. Every Thursday, an Infants & Toddlers playgroup will be held from 9 am - 10 am. October 7th the monthly mixed age playgroup will be held from 5 pm - 6 pm. The mixed age playgroup will be held monthly on the first Monday of each month. Mrs. Clark will be posting a list in the classroom of the specific groups assigned to each playgroup in late September.
