Message From School Administration
Dear Lisbon Families,
This week, we celebrated National Assistant Principals Week! Lisbon is fortunate to have one of the very best in our very own Mr. Scobie. We are so grateful for the leadership and care he pours into our school each and every day. Thank you for helping us recognize him with cards, kind words, special treats, and by participating in today’s “Dress Like an Assistant Principal” spirit day! It’s clear that we have some fantastic future school leaders walking through our hallways.
We are excited to kick off spring with some wonderful events! Next week, International Night will be held on April 17th—we hope to see you there! Lisbon also has 75 artists featured in the Student Art Exhibit at the Mall in Columbia. Be sure to check out their amazing artwork!
Please remember that Wednesday, April 15th will now be a half-day for students due to calendar adjustments. Dismissal will begin at 12:45 p.m.
Have a wonderful weekend,
Dr. Carr & Mr. Scobie

Pocket Pantry
Howard County has launched a community-led initiative called the Pocket Pantry program. The Pocket Pantry offers residents in need free perishable and non-perishable food items, 24/7, no questions asked.
The goal of the Pocket Pantry program is to contribute to family and community wellness by reducing food waste, increasing food access, building community, promoting dignity and choice, and encouraging community sustainability.
In addition to our monthly Park- It -Market, sponsored by Glenelg United Methodist Church, Lisbon families and community members may now access a Lisbon Pocket Pantry at any time at the following location:
Heritage Realty Services, 15950 North Avenue, Lisbon
(sponsored by Glenelg United Methodist Church)
The refrigerator and accompanying pantry shelves are stocked with items such as fresh produce, dairy, meats and canned goods. Anyone can take what they need at any time. Community members are encouraged to donate food, non-perishable items as well as prepared meals.
Complete Family File
Please assist us by completing your Family File at hcpss.org/connect.
- Parents/guardians must verify and/or update emergency information for each child every school year. This is completed online in Family File, which has several new updates including how and where to access. Full details on updating your Family File are available online. Please let us know if you need assistance.
Change of Address
Any change of residency must be reported through Family File within 10 school days of the move. Current residency documentation must be provided to the school each time residency changes.
Student Meals & Payments
For the 2025-2026 school year, HCPSS will be using LINQ Connect for all things food and nutrition. LINQ Connect is a secure, online portal that allows families to make online payments to their child’s meal account, monitor their child’s account, schedule automatic recurring payments, set up low balance alerts, submit a Free and Reduced Meals program application, and more.
Free and Reduced Meals-check your eligibility today!
Students whose families do not qualify for free or reduced lunch will be required to pay the daily meal price. Many HCPSS families are eligible to participate in the Free and Reduced Price Meals (FARMs) program, which provides children with a wide range of benefits including free or discounted college tuition, testing and application fees, academic and athletic program fees, and many others in addition to free or discounted meals. Families are urged to check their eligibility and complete a FARMs application as soon as possible. Families must submit a new application every school year. Details on the Free and Reduced Meals program, including a link to apply, are available online.
