RES Sunday Message
Week of October 19, 2026
What's New at Randolph?
As we begin the second marking period, I want to thank our families for your continued partnership and support in making this a successful school year. We look forward to building on the progress our students have made, celebrating their growth, and continuing to work together to ensure every child feels supported, challenged, and excited to learn! Report cards for the first marking period will go home on October 28, 2026.
Thank you to Ms. Watts, Ms. Gates, and our students for performing and sharing at the School Board meeting last week. Everyone did a fantastic job!
October is Bullying Prevention Month, and this Wednesday, October 21, we’ll celebrate Unity Day by wearing orange to show that we stand together for kindness, acceptance, and inclusion! During our school counseling lessons, students are learning how to be kind friends, include others, and help everyone feel welcome. Families can join in by encouraging children to lift others up and remember that even small acts of kindness can make a big difference. Together, we can make Randolph a place where everyone feels valued and knows they belong!
Fall Gifted Referral Window
The fall gifted referral window opens October 1st and closes on October 31st. Please see the attached flyer for information, and reach out to Mrs. Eastwood with questions at jeastwood@glnd.k12.va.us
The RES National Parks-themed fall book fair is here! Students will be shopping from October 23-29. Families are welcome to shop after school and during our family literacy event, Trails & Tales, on October 29.
Please use this link or scan the attached QR code to set up an eWallet, the cash-free way for students to pay at the Book Fair. Any unspent funds can be used at a future Scholastic Book Fair or to shop online. Thank you for supporting this exciting fundraiser for our school!
We still need a few wonderful volunteers to help make the Book Fair a success! Your time makes a huge difference.

My Child Is Absent! What do I do?
We are launching a new method to report student absences. Please complete the Attendance Form if your child is sick and will not be attending school. You no longer need to call or email the office with this information. It is still helpful for you to inform your child's teacher via email of their absence.
