🌟 April Moments at Cambridge
April was a joyful and engaging month as we welcomed our Cubs back from Spring Break and jumped right into meaningful learning and community events!
We began the month by welcoming students back to campus on April 6, ready to learn and reconnect. Throughout the week of April 13–17, our school celebrated College & Career Week, where students dressed up each day to represent their dreams and future goals. It was inspiring to see our Cubs bring their aspirations to life with creativity and excitement.
On April 15, families joined us for our ELAC Meeting, as well as a special 2nd & 3rd Grade Parent Math Lesson, where they observed classroom instruction and learned strategies to support math learning at home.
We also hosted our Scholastic Book Fair from April 20–24, giving students and families the opportunity to explore new books and build a love for reading.
On April 22, families gathered for our Farmers Market, where fresh and healthy food was distributed to our community. Around this time, we also took a moment to reflect on caring for our planet, recognizing that every day is an opportunity to support and protect our environment.
April 23 was a special evening on campus as we hosted Open House and Community Night. Families visited classrooms, explored student work, connected with community resources, and enjoyed food and the Book Fair. It was a wonderful celebration of our students’ hard work and progress.
On April 24, many of our families attended Community Science Night at Santiago Canyon College, where students engaged in hands-on experiments and interactive activities that sparked curiosity and excitement for science.
Additionally, we proudly celebrated Librarian Day by recognizing our amazing librarian, Mr. John, for his dedication to fostering a love of reading and learning among our students.
Each of these events reflects our commitment to building a strong, connected, and supportive school community. Thank you to all the families who participated and made this month so memorable!

🌟 Momentos de Abril en Cambridge
¡Abril fue un mes lleno de alegría y participación mientras dimos la bienvenida a nuestros estudiantes después de las vacaciones de primavera y retomamos el aprendizaje con entusiasmo!
Comenzamos el mes dando la bienvenida a los estudiantes de regreso a la escuela el 6 de abril, listos para aprender y reconectarse. Durante la semana del 13 al 17 de abril, celebramos la Semana Universitaria y de Carreras, donde los estudiantes se vistieron cada día representando sus metas y sueños para el futuro. Fue inspirador ver a nuestros Cubs dar vida a sus aspiraciones con tanta creatividad y entusiasmo.
El 15 de abril, las familias participaron en la reunión de ELAC, así como en una Lección de Matemáticas para Padres de 2º y 3º grado, donde pudieron observar la enseñanza en el aula y aprender estrategias para apoyar a sus hijos en casa.
También llevamos a cabo la Feria del Libro Scholastic del 20 al 24 de abril, brindando a los estudiantes y familias la oportunidad de explorar nuevos libros y fortalecer el amor por la lectura.
El 22 de abril, las familias se reunieron en nuestro Mercado de Agricultores, donde se distribuyeron alimentos frescos y saludables para la comunidad. Durante este tiempo, también reflexionamos sobre la importancia de cuidar nuestro planeta, recordando que cada día es una oportunidad para proteger el medio ambiente.
El 23 de abril fue una noche muy especial en nuestra escuela con nuestra Casa Abierta y Noche Comunitaria. Las familias visitaron los salones, exploraron el trabajo de los estudiantes, se conectaron con recursos comunitarios y disfrutaron de comida y la Feria del Libro. Fue una hermosa celebración del esfuerzo y los logros de nuestros estudiantes.
El 24 de abril, muchas de nuestras familias asistieron a la Noche de Ciencia Comunitaria en Santiago Canyon College, donde los estudiantes participaron en experimentos prácticos y actividades interactivas que despertaron su curiosidad por la ciencia.
Además, celebramos el Día del Bibliotecario reconociendo a nuestro increíble bibliotecario, el Sr. John, por su dedicación en fomentar el amor por la lectura y el aprendizaje en nuestros estudiantes.
Cada uno de estos eventos refleja nuestro compromiso de construir una comunidad escolar fuerte, conectada y solidaria. ¡Gracias a todas las familias que participaron e hicieron de este mes algo tan especial!

Cambridge Elementary invites all families to attend our upcoming Family Engagement Meeting focused on water safety.
In partnership with the Jasper Ray Foundation, this workshop will provide important information to help keep children safe around water. Did you know that more children ages 1–4 die from drowning than from car accidents? This session will focus on practical, easy-to-follow strategies that can make a life-saving difference.

- What to do in an emergency

Open House & Community Resource Night Highlights – April 23 🐾💙
On April 23, Cambridge Elementary proudly hosted our Open House and Community Resource Night, bringing together our amazing students, families, and community partners for an evening full of connection and celebration.
Families had the opportunity to visit classrooms and see firsthand the incredible work our Cubs have been doing. We also celebrated the hard work and dedication of our Cambridge Club students, who continue to shine through their commitment and participation.
In addition, families were able to connect with local community partners, explore valuable resources, and take home helpful information to support their families beyond the classroom. Events like these remind us how strong and supportive our Cambridge community truly is.

🎉📚 i-Ready Character Visit at Cambridge 📚🎉
Our students were excited to welcome the i-Ready character to campus! It was a fun and energizing visit that brought lots of smiles and school spirit throughout the day.
Students were happy to see the character walking around campus, taking pictures, and encouraging them in their learning. The visit helped celebrate the hard work our students are putting into their reading and math practice on i-Ready.
We loved seeing our Cubs so engaged, motivated, and excited about learning. Thank you to the i-Ready team for bringing such a fun experience to our school! 🐾💙

I had the opportunity to attend a professional learning workshop hosted by the Orange County Department of Education in partnership with the Orange County District Attorney’s Office.
This experience focused on strengthening how schools create safe, inclusive, and supportive environments for all students. Through this training, I gained valuable tools and knowledge to better support our families, respond thoughtfully to challenges, and ensure that every student feels seen, respected, and valued on our campus.
The workshop also provided important resources and guidance on how schools can proactively build positive school culture, address concerns effectively, and continue fostering a sense of belonging for all members of our community.
I am grateful for the opportunity to continue learning and growing in ways that directly support our Cambridge students and families. 💙🐾

Tuve la oportunidad de asistir a un taller de aprendizaje profesional organizado por el Departamento de Educación del Condado de Orange en colaboración con la Oficina del Fiscal del Condado de Orange.

We are excited to offer our Summer ELOP Camp, a FREE program open to all Orange Unified students! This enriching summer experience will run from June 15 through July 24, 2026, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM daily.
Students will have the opportunity to participate in engaging activities, build friendships, and continue learning in a fun and supportive environment. Families may register for any participating school location, regardless of their home school.
Priority registration opens on April 6 at 9:00 AM, and registration for all families begins on April 13 at 9:00 AM. We encourage families to register early, as space may be limited.

🌟 Campamento de verano ELOP 2026 🌟
Nos complace ofrecer nuestro Campamento de Verano ELOP, un programa GRATUITO abierto a todos los estudiantes del Distrito Escolar Unificado de Orange. Esta enriquecedora experiencia de verano se llevará a cabo del 15 de junio al 24 de julio de 2026, de 8:00 a. m. a 5:00 p. m. todos los días.

Through this monthly distribution, families receive fresh, seasonal produce, learn about valuable local resources, and have the opportunity to connect with one another in a welcoming environment.
We are incredibly grateful to our dedicated community partners who make these markets possible, and to our amazing volunteers who help everything run smoothly month after month.

Our after-school programs officially launched on September 15, and Cambridge is buzzing with creativity and fun! Students are exploring new interests through clubs like Robotics, Cooking, Art, Chess, Tutoring, and more.
Thank you to our staff and community partners for leading such engaging, hands-on experiences — and to our families for supporting these opportunities that help our Cubs grow beyond the classroom.

Great news, Cambridge Cubs! 🐾
The Orange County Transportation Authority (OCTA) is offering free bus passes for all students ages 6–18 for the 2025–26 school year through the Youth Ride Free Program.
✨ These new passes come as Wave cards (no more stripe cards!) and can be used for free rides on all OC Bus fixed-route services to get to and from school.
📍 Cambridge Office Info:
We have a limited number of passes available in our office. If you’d like one, please stop by to fill out the short Parental Request Form and pick up a pass (while supplies last).
👉 Once you complete the form, your child will be set to ride the bus for free all school year!
