Board Names Fennell Permanent Executive Director
The NTHF Board of Trustees is pleased to announce that Maddie Fennell has been appointed as the permanent executive director of the organization. Initially brought in as an interim leader for a six-month term, Fennell’s leadership and strategic vision have proven invaluable in shaping the future of NTHF. During her tenure as interim executive director, Fennell developed a comprehensive sustainability and feasibility plan, which the board utilized to craft a three-year strategic action plan. This plan focuses on five key initiatives to strengthen and expand NTHF’s mission of honoring exceptional educators:
Redesigning our website and enhancing our online presence to increase accessibility and engagement.
Reimagining our museum and illuminating the history of teaching to better celebrate the profession’s impact.
Strengthening our financial management and sustainability to ensure the long-term success of the Hall of Fame.
Expanding our outreach and welcoming new friends to build stronger connections within the education community.
Deepening our engagement with stakeholders to amplify our mission and impact.
“We are thrilled that Maddie Fennell is continuing on as executive director,” said Craig Martin, chair of the NTHF Board of Trustees. “Her passion for education, combined with her strategic leadership, will propel the Hall of Fame forward as we continue to celebrate and support the teaching profession.” Fennell, a longtime advocate for educators and a nationally recognized leader in the field, expressed her excitement about this next chapter. “It has been an honor to work with the National Teachers Hall of Fame, and I am eager to continue our efforts to elevate the teaching profession and recognize those who make a profound impact on students’ lives every day,” she said.
