🎃 Happy Halloween, Shaw Families! 👻
As we head into Halloween, we want to remind all our students and families to stay safe and have fun!
-
Be visible: Wear bright colors or add reflective tape to costumes.
-
Stay together: Trick-or-treat with friends or family — never alone.
-
Watch for traffic: Cross streets carefully and use sidewalks when possible.
-
Check your treats: Have an adult look over candy before enjoying it.
We hope everyone has a fun-filled and safe Halloween night!

Shining the Spotlight on Dr. Hutchinson
Hi!
I’m Dr. Hutchinson and I love teaching. I started my 30th year in education this August with the same enthusiasm and optimism I have started every year. My main job in WPS is to help students and their families who have recently arrived in the country learn how to navigate new educational experiences and learn English. I also work at the University of Denver as a professor in the Teacher Education Program.
I like to create fun and challenging learning environments where our students can explore together. In my classroom you will always find kids trying new things and talking about their lives as it relates to our lessons. I also like being at school everyday because my friends are here. I love to help teachers with their students and daily activities. When I am not at school, I like to hike big mountains, play with my dog, and golf with my mom.
I wish everyone a warm and safe holiday season and GO BRONCOS!
Lockers
Students should only use their assigned lockers and should not be sharing lockers with others. This helps keep your belongings safe and organized. If you’re having trouble opening your locker or need help learning how to use it, please ask a staff member—we’re happy to help!
