A message from Mrs. Holloman, Principal🍎

Dear Inspiration View Elementary School Families,

Thank you so much for all the kind words and heartfelt messages regarding my upcoming retirement at the end of this school year. I am truly touched by your support. While I will deeply miss our entire IVES community, please know that I am here, fully present, and giving 150% through June. It continues to be an absolute honor to serve your children and our school.

Our Zone Superintendent, Theresa Ritz, will be leading the interview process for the next principal. I will continue to lead the hiring process for staff for the 2026–2027 school year. IVES is in a wonderful place, and we truly have the very best staff. I am confident our strong foundation will continue to serve students and families well into the future.

As we begin thinking about next school year, you are welcome to email teacher requests. When doing so, please include the qualities in a teacher that you feel would best support your child. This information is very helpful as we thoughtfully build class lists. While we do our best to honor requests, we cannot promise specific teachers, as classes are formed based on student needs and several key factors. Thank you for your understanding and partnership in this process.

Boosterthon has officially started, and excitement is building! We would love for families to join us for the Fun Run on March 11th. Please see the schedule in the newsletter—we would be thrilled to have you here cheering on your child(ren). A huge thank you to our fabulous PTO for providing popsicles for all students after the run!

Boosterthon plays an important role at IVES. Funds raised through Boosterthon and popcorn days help us purchase prize box items, send teachers to specialized professional development, support Flyer Theater Club, and continue building a fun and positive school culture through our partnership with Jostens Renaissance—and so much more. Our students have absolutely loved our Super Hero theme this year. Thank you for supporting these efforts so generously.

After spring break, CMAS testing will begin. Our students are ready! Thank you for simply encouraging them to do their best and approach testing with confidence.

We are also incredibly grateful to our amazing PTO for their continued support. Because of their partnership, we are able to send several staff members to the summer Jostens conference. In addition, our PTO purchased two new paper cutters for our building. Thank you, PTO! Their commitment makes a real difference in our school community. If you are looking for a way to get involved, please consider joining this outstanding group.

Finally, the yearbook is nearly finished—and it is going to be the best one yet! The last day to order is April 1st. Please see the information in this newsletter so you do not miss out.

Thank you again for giving us the privilege of working with your children. It is truly an honor!

With appreciation and in partnership,
Pam

CMAS Information 📝

Dear Inspiration View Elementary School Family,

With the combination of very warm days, followed by cold days, you know that spring is around the corner. With the change in seasons comes the time to measure the progress your child has made in the classroom this year. Beginning April 6th, third, fourth and fifth-graders will participate in Colorado assessments of English language arts and math. Our fifth-graders will also take tests in science. Some schools may have 4th grade students who will take social studies as well. These tests provide important feedback on the firm foundation we have built with each learner.

  • These assessments do not define a student’s abilities and skills, but they do impact how we deliver instruction to meet the unique needs of each student. As examples: Teachers use these assessment results to plan with students and set goals to support their individual paths, planning for next steps in the learning journey.
  • Parents gain insight about academic strengths and areas for growth, as well as information about how students compare to others across the state and nationally.
  • Our community is provided with information about how our school is performing overall.

Here are some things you can do at home to maximize your child’s success: feed your child a good breakfast the mornings of the assessment, ensure your child gets a good night’s rest, continue daily reading time at home, and continue to practice basic math.

On behalf of the entire staff, thank you for your continued support of your child, our teachers and our school. Please contact me if you have any questions or concerns. You can also access further information about our district and state assessment program at: http://d49.org/assessments.

In partnership,

Pam Holloman

Principal, Inspiration View Elementary School

Boosterthon Information 🏃🏻‍♂️🏃🏻‍♀️

Parent(s)/Guardian(s) are welcome to join their student(s) during their assigned student’s fun run time. Please only arrive 5 minutes prior to that time and head directly to the playground area. If there is inclement weather, we will be moving the Fun Run indoors inside our gymnasium during their grade level studio time.

Please stay with your child’s class as we will continue to have learning happening throughout the building. Students’ lunch times will be as normal on this date. Should you like to bring other non-school age children to watch their siblings, please feel free to have them with you but under your supervision as they are not able to participate in the fun run. If you would like to check your child(ren) out early, please see Mrs. Nicole Prewett in the front office so that she may check your ID and call your student out of class. (Students will need to go back with their classroom teacher first and NOT be pulled directly from the fun run.) Thank you.

Please join us at the back field to cheer on your student(s)!

Intent to Return ⏰

To ensure our D49 Families have a successful transition into the next school year, we are requesting you sign into your Parent Portal account and complete the D49 - Intent to Return Ecollect form. This will communicate your plans for next year, including whether your student plans on returning to their current school or if they will be transferring to another school or leaving the state of Colorado.

This is important information for school staff to balance class sizes and ensure all students are set up for success.

If you do not have a Parent Portal account, please refer to this resource to create an account. If you need additional support, please reach out to Nicole Prewett at Nicole.Prewett@d49.org.

Updates from the Health Room 🩺

As we look to next year (26-27), we wanted to ensure that you have information from the Health Room regarding immunizations. This letters below include important information about Colorado's school vaccine requirements. Colorado law requires students who attend to be vaccinated or obtain a Certificate of Exemption. This is just for your information, there is nothing you need to do at this time. Additionally, please see the Flu Information below.

Helpful Information for the Year 📓

Cell Phone Policy:

In accordance with district policy, cell phones and other personal communication devices (to include smart watches) should be kept in students' backpacks and turned off during the school day. These devices should not be used during school hours unless specifically authorized by a teacher for educational purposes. This helps reduce distractions and supports a positive classroom environment.

Please review the Power Zone and Inspiration View Elementary's Cell Phone Policy

Dress Code:

We ask that families help ensure students come to school dressed appropriately. Clothing should be school-appropriate, comfortable for learning and play, and in line with the district dress code. This includes items such as shorts and tank tops, which should provide adequate coverage and support a respectful school atmosphere.

Important Traffic Support Needed

Safety is our first concern. Please follow the signage for right turn only out of the parking lot. We have had several near misses recently and need to ensure the safety of all. Thank you for following the posted signage.

Please do not use the dirt lot to the west of the school as this property is not a parking lot and creates safety concerns when exiting onto Vista Del Pico. Please use the street for parking, the kiss and go lane, or the Inspiration View Elementary parking lot. Thank you!

Attendance:

If your student has an appointment, please be sure to send in a physician's note to the front office so that we can properly code the excused absence in the system. Examples might include, doctor, dentist, etc.).

Should your student be absent, parents must report this absence to the front office with a phone call (719-495-5302) or an email (nicole.prewett@d49.org). Nicole is our Attendance Secretary and is the person who can assist with the call. If you do not report your student's absence, it will be marked as unexcused. Unexcused absences are tracked and reported to D49 truancy. If you have any questions about reporting absences or truancy, please reach out to Jessica Cole (719-495-5307).
