Principal Duckworth's Notes
Week of September 15, 2025
Hello Northglade Families,
I would like to thank all of you who were able to attend our Open House this past Thursday. Hopefully, you were able to come and see your child's classroom, ask some questions, and meet a few new families. Thank you again for your support!
5th Grade Chromebooks Correction
Many of our 5th graders received a new Chromebook since Open House. I previously mentioned that they did not need to turn in their old Chromebooks. Unfortunately, that information was incorrect. We do need to have the old Chromebooks. Therefore, if your student received a new 5th grade Chromebook, please send in the old Chromebook. Once this is done, we can get your new Chromebook activated. We are sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused.
If your 5th grader has not yet received a new Chromebook and carrying case, please return their current devise, a parent or guardian needs to come in and sign the KPS Student Acceptable Use Form to receive the new devise and case. You may come into the office and take care of that at any time.
Academically Talented Meeting from Kim Obrien
A/T, Academically Talented teacher, Kim O'brien, states that she will hold a virtual parent meeting for ALL Northglade and Indian Prairie A/T families on Wednesday, Sept. 10th. The virtual link will be shared with parents through email and posted in her google classrooms for 3rd grade A/T students.
Friendly reminder that A/T ELA classes will take place in Semester 1 and A/T Math classes will take place in Semester 2. This is different than last year, therefore, she will not see the Math A/T students until January 2026.

3rd Grade Capitol Field Trip
This Friday, September 19, our third graders will take their annual field trip to the Michigan State Capitol Building in Lansing, Michigan. The Michigan State Capitol is a National Historic Landmark that currently houses the chambers and offices of the Michigan and Lieutenant Governor. Our students will be visiting the Capitol to learn more about it and what happens in that building.
Please make sure all permission slips and money related to this field trip have been turned in asap. All chaperones should reach out to the E1 teachers for arrangements, payments and background checks. The bus will leave at approximately 9:00 am, Friday morning. Please make sure students are on time so that they do not miss the bus to the Capitol. Please review your expectations for behavior with your students in advance. Thank you for your support in advance.
