Dear DW Community,
What a joyful week it has been! We are so grateful to Mr. Russo for coordinating our Talent Show year after year. It is truly such a treat to watch our kiddos get up on that stage and showcase their incredible talents.
We also want to extend a heartfelt thank you to Ana Avilez, Ms. Jen, Mr. T, Ms. Tai, and the Rainbow Club for coordinating our 4th and best yet Pride Celebration. These two events are a beautiful reminder that every child brings something uniquely special that enriches our whole community. It has been such a joy to feel the love, camaraderie, and happiness we shared together this week!
We are also thrilled to announce that Ms. Garcia will be returning to DW in a brand new role! Starting Monday, she will be serving as our full-time Resource Specialist. Please give her a warm welcome when you see her around campus!
Warm regards,
Anita Parameswaran

Dear Daniel Webster Community
We’re excited to share that ASEP registration for the 2026–2027 school year will open on April 30th at 10:00 AM!
How to Prepare for Registration Day
We encourage all families to review the following resources ahead of time:
2026–2027 Enrollment Guide – includes new clubs, application steps, and important dates
ASEP Program Costs – with a comparison to other programs in the city
ASEP Q&A Page – have a question? Check here first! If you don’t find what you need, submit your question and our team will follow up promptly
General Daily Schedule - Want to know what a typical day looks like? Check out our daily schedule to see how your child’s time is structured at ASEP.
Registration will be shared via email and available on our website: asepsf.org
We strongly encourage families to review all materials in advance and submit their registration as soon as it opens to ensure the best chance of placement.
We look forward to another amazing year with your children!
Warmly,
ASEP Team
Important Notes:
ASEP prioritizes enrollment for families who qualify under the SFUSD ELOP (Expanded Learning Opportunities Program). ELOP priority generally applies to students who meet income eligibility, are foster or unhoused youth, English learners, or students identified by the school district for additional academic support.
For the 2026–2027 school year, all students interested in attending ASEP will be required to complete the ASEP 26–27 Application.
This application includes important forms and information such as:
Priority Enrollment
Progressive Response to Challenging Behavior
ADA & FERPA policies
Student data collection
Media Consent Form
Release of Information
Opt-out form for ELO-P priority students
All documents must be reviewed and signed before enrollment can be finalized.
We look forward to another amazing year with our Daniel Webster community!
Warmly,
ASEP Team
Community Care Closet - RESTOCK
Over spring break, we were able to send groceries home with several families to help ensure students who rely on school meals had food to enjoy during the break. It wouldn't have been possible without our incredible community.
As we continue building this support for our families, we'd love your help restocking our closet. If you're able to donate, some of our most needed and popular items include:
- Rice
- dried beans + canned beans
- canned diced tomatoes
- pasta + pasta sauce
- mac and cheese
- cereal
- chicken bouillon
- vegetable oil
- shelf-stable milk
Every donation — big or small — goes directly to supporting our students and families right here in our school community. If you're able to contribute, please drop off items at the front office. Thank you so much for your generosity and continued support!

PTA Updates
PTA leadership 26/27
We're already approaching the end of the school year, and the PTA is beginning planning for next year. We need YOU to help! We have lots of open roles and we need people to fill them. We're hosting a PTA leadership open house this Friday April 10 at 4pm, hosted by Katelyn Watson (thank you!). Come talk to current and former DW PTA executive committee members and see where you'd fit in. The PTA is a great way to influence the school, meet your fellow parents, and develop organizational skills.
If you're considering getting involved, please fill out this short survey:
- President: responsible for the overall direction of the PTA, and has the final say on decisions. Would love to have a current 2nd-grade parent, or someone else who's been at the school for a few years and still has at least 3 years left at DW, fill this role.
- Treasurer: responsible for managing the organizations finances, handling reimbursement requests and adherence to our budget.
There are also opportunities in events, communications, website management, fundraising, and more! Please feel free to email nathan@dwpta.org with any questions about these roles.
PTA Meeting (5/19)
Join us for the next PTA community meeting in person 6:00 - 7:00 pm in library! no interpretation provided
Start collecting your clean and dry soft plastics to help keep these out of our landfills.
We'll have a collection date in early May. Please do not bring it to school before this date. More information here
