BREAKFAST AND LUNCH INFO

Plato Academy Tampa is self-sponsoring for the National School Lunch Program! What does this mean? It means we do not get our meals from the district food service program; we choose our own, and our food service provider is Maschio's Food Service. And we are happy to share that their menu gets high praise from students and staff!

Important:

1. If you wish to order breakfast or lunch for your child at any time during the school year, you will need to create an account on PaySchools. Please read the directions below and complete this step as soon as possible. Your child's PIN number is their Hillsborough County Schools student number. We will have a list of those ready, especially for the little ones who may not be able to memorize them right away.

2. There are a lot of choices including a la carte items. These are not part of the meal price and are not covered by free and reduced lunch grants. You also have the option to make notes in PaySchools directing if and when your child can purchase a la carte items.

3. You can apply for free/reduced lunch prices online through your PaySchools account. However, you can also turn in a paper application if you prefer. These will be available at Meet the Teacher/Open House. You can also get them from the front desk and they are attached at the bottom of this newsletter.

Below you can click to read more about the program, including how to register for a PaySchools account, how to order, add money to your child's account, how to track their purchases, etc.

If your child typically brings a lunch because they did not like the school lunch at their previous school, I encourage you to give Maschio's a chance to win you over. However, students are more than welcome to bring a lunch from home. Students are NOT allowed to use a microwave at school, so any warm food items brought from home should be cooked at home and put in a thermos to keep it warm.

If you have trouble finding your child in the PaySchool system, give it a few days as we are still trying to get new students uploaded.
