Juniors - ACT Scores

A big thank you to all of our students and staff for making the March 10th ACT testing day a success for our 11th grade students! We are grateful for the effort, preparation, and focus shown by everyone involved. At this point, testing has been completed and results are being processed, and students have begun receiving mailed copies of their score reports.

Reports are mailed directly to students and are also available electronically through each student’s MyACT account. Students created MyACT accounts during pre-registration (completed in early March) using personal email addresses, which ensures continued access to their accounts beyond graduation. You may find the following resources to be helpful as you review your report.

Junior Class Meetings

As we move into an important season of planning for life after high school, we encourage all juniors to schedule a meeting with their school counselor during the month of April.

This one-on-one meeting is a valuable opportunity for students to:

  • Review graduation progress and senior year course options

  • Explore a variety of post-high school pathways, including college, career, military, and workforce options

  • Identify next steps based on individual goals, interests, and strengths

  • Get guidance on college applications, scholarships, and timelines

  • Ask questions and create a clear plan for the months ahead

Taking time now to meet with a counselor can help reduce stress and ensure students are on track for a successful senior year and beyond. Parents are welcome to attend these conferences.

Use the links below to schedule an appointment with your counselor:

This week we will be participating in the statewide severe weather drill at SP East. Spring sports are often outside and it is always important to be weather aware. Take a moment this week to chat with your coaches and advisors about what you would do if a severe thunderstorm or tornado were to happen while you were at an event, game or practice. Where would you shelter, and how would you communicate with your coaches and caregivers? These are questions you should always think about ahead of time.

Sun Prairie East FFA Environmental Science Team

On April 10th the Sun Prairie East FFA Environmental Science Team competed at the Wisconsin State Land and Water Envirothon.

Micheal Murdock, Kennedy Carr, Lauren Alt, Collin Lyons, and Eurijah Lovelle worked together to take First Place as an FFA team and Second Place overall. They also earned First Place in the Team Presentation portion where they presented on Non-Point Source Pollution receiving a nearly perfect score of 198/200! They will be representing the Wisconsin FFA at the National FFA Environmental Science Career Development Event in October!

Please congratulate this amazing team and their hard work!

At the Envirothon teams take exams based on four categories: Aquatic Ecology, Forestry, Soils & Land Use, and Wildlife.

Aquatic Ecology - Students work with water resource professionals to learn about aquatic ecosystems, identify aquatic organisms, discuss watershed management, and determine nonpoint source pollution.

Forestry - Forestry educators and professionals identify practices for the maintenance of healthy forests and teach the basics of species identification, forest structure, and sustainable management approaches.

Soils and Land Use - Professional soil scientists help students learn about soil structure, interpret maps, evaluate land forms, and discover soil characteristics that affect agriculture and development issues.

Wildlife - Wildlife experts provide students with hands-on practicum and tracking knowledge regarding animal populations, their dynamics, and the importance of habitat conservation.

Additionally, teams create group presentations based on a pre-selected, topical conservation issue that local conservation professionals are dealing with across the state. Field professionals and educators challenge students to work as a team exploring facets of current environmental topics. The Current Issue Team Presentation helps students articulate today’s critical environmental concerns and develop the skills to communicate the conservation ethic in whatever scholastic, career, or civic choices lie ahead. This year's current issue was: Non-Point Source Pollution: It begins at home!
