This week's Educator of the Week is FBMS 7th Grade Social Studies teacher, Ms. Maryann Clifford. Ms. Clifford has been an integral part of the talented FBMS team since 2014.
Ms. Clifford is a whirlwind of excitement and energy and her Social Studies classes are always filled with engaging activities for her students. She is consistently promoting a positive culture in the classroom and throughout the FBMS. She loves to collaborate with her Social Studies department and the faculty and staff in the Sharks Cluster.
Principal Kemmett spoke glowingly of Ms. Clifford when she noted, "Ms. Clifford has a gift for engaging middle level learners in each lesson and helps build their interest in history, current events, and the community around them. Her warm manner and out-going personality draws all students in and she builds a relationship with each student. She calls all students "scholars" which is one small way in which she demonstrates her respect for them as learners. In addition, Ms. Clifford and Officer Hernon started the Criminal Justice Club last year at the FBMS, where they bring in a variety of guests and it's been a very popular club."
We congratulate Ms. Clifford on being named Educator of the Week and we thank her for being such a positive part of our team. Her efforts make a terrific team at the FBMS even better. #bettertogether
