DRRHS Falcon Flash
February 5th, 2026
A Message from Mr. Demers
Dear DRRHS Families,
What a great start to the month of February here at DRRHS. Not only are our Falcons succeeding in the classrooms and beyond, everyone is getting into the Super Bowl spirit as we inch closer to the big game on Sunday. Here are a few DRRHS highlights to help you pass the time until kick off:
The annual DR Valentine Variety Show will take place on Thursday February 26th in the DRRHS gymnasium. We hope everyone is able to stop by and see all of the amazing talent our DRRHS students have to offer. Thank you to our Peer Leaders for their hard work on this event.
Congratulations to the NHS students who competed in the annual SCC Honor Bowl. This trivia competition between SCC schools is a great tradition. The DRRHS team was able to win two rounds. Thanks to the NHS officers and Mr. Pacheco for representing DRRHS at the event.
On Thursday, twenty three DRRHS new students were onboarded into our Early College program at DRRHS for the second semester. These students are pursuing academic classes that allow them to earn both DRRHS credits and credits at Bridgewater State University, our Early College partner. We are very excited about the growth of this program this year and look forward to sharing more information regarding 2026-2027 course offerings soon.
As always there is much to be excited about on 2700 Regional Road. We hope you are able to stop by over the coming weeks to check out an event or athletic contest. Stay warm and Go Pats! Hopefully next week I am notifying everyone that attending a parade is NOT an excused absence.
With Falcon Pride,
Dustin Demers - Principal DRRHS
Important Bus Safety Messages
In the morning during drop off please do not drive around buses that are parked outside of the high school entrance in the circle. Cars must wait to drop off in front of the school until all of the busses that are parked there have pulled away. Students can be dropped off alongside the school in the parking lot with the solar panels.
Also a reminder for all members of the Dighton-Rehoboth community of the critical importance of stopping for school buses.
Stop completely when a school bus has its red lights flashing and stop-arm extended, regardless of direction of travel (unless on a divided highway with a physical median).
Be alert in school zones and residential areas, especially during morning and afternoon bus routes.
Model safe and responsible driving behavior for our students.
Ensuring the safety of our children is a shared responsibility. We appreciate your partnership in helping keep every student safe on their way to and from school. Thank you for keeping our community safe.

Phone/Earbud/Headphone Usage DRRHS
District Electronic Device Policy
The term “electronic devices,” includes but is not limited to cell phones, iPads/tablets, laptops/computers (other than those issued by the District), electronic/smart devices, and headphones/airpods. The expectation is that these personal devices remain off and away during the school day. Staff may require students to store phones in a centralized location. The only exception is at the high school, where students are permitted to use their phones during transition time in the hallway between classes and during lunch. High school students are not allowed to use their phones during class time, or when out of the classroom during class time (i.e., bathroom breaks). Students remain solely responsible for any loss or damage to any electronic devices used or brought onto school property. Use of electronic devices at school are subject to the District’s Acceptable Use Policy and any applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to M.G.L. c. 272, sec. 99, which is sometimes known as the Massachusetts Wiretapping Law.

School Hours
7:00 - Doors open (breakfast available)
7:17 - First Period Begins
1:51 - Dismissal
Attendance
A reminder that a student will be assigned Saturday School if they accrue 5 attendance points in a quarter.
- An unexcused absence (one not accompanied by a valid medical note) equals one attendance point.
- An unexcused tardy/dismissal equals an attendance half point.
A student's exemplary academic standing or disciplinary record have no bearing on the assignment of a Saturday School in the case of five or more attendance points being accrued over the course of one quarter of the school year.
First period begins at 7:17AM. Any student not in their classroom at 7:17 or later will be considered tardy for that day.
Chromebooks
All Chromebooks should be charged and ready for each school day. Outside devices are not permitted, only school issued Chromebooks can be used at DRRHS during the school day.
The school has a limited number of loaner chromebooks and priority is to those students whose chromebooks are being fixed. Please remember that students should be bringing in fully charged chromebooks to school every day with charging cords.
Student Parking
If a Senior or Junior is planning on parking at school, they can purchase a sticker in the office. The cost to park at school is $60 for the year. At the start of Semester 2, parking will be $30 for the balance of the year. Parking forms are available in the office. Please be aware that students will not be able to go out to their cars during the school day. They must remember to have everything with them when they enter the building in the morning.
Faculty Parking Lot
Please make sure you do not cut through the Faculty Parking Lot before or after school. The Faculty Parking Lot should not be used as a shortcut for safety reasons. Thank you!

CTE Corner
CTE Early Childhood Education
Mrs Bosco and her Early Childhood Education Program has partnered with Dighton Elementary School and Palmer River Elementary School to run an internship program for the CTE seniors in the Early Childhood program. The seniors work at the elementary school every Wednesday and Friday afternoon. They assist the classroom teacher with running small groups or individual groups in the classroom. Recently they have begun to plan and implement a lesson to teach to a small group of children. Some lessons have been review of sight words, word families, and/or reviewing money skills with Kindergarten, First Grade, or Second Grade students. They have quickly become part of the classroom family and students and teachers look forward to their presence each week.

College Bound Students
Seniors who have been accepted to college, please let Mrs. Shillan in guidance know. She will post it in on the window in guidance and have it announced during morning announcements if you choose.
STARS Report: Just a reminder for students to check your emails after you apply to college. There are 38 colleges across the nation that accept/require students to fill out The Self-reported Transcript and Academic Record System (STARS). For example, The University of Rhode Island and The University of Connecticut require this. The University of Massachusetts Amherst and The University of New Hampshire accept it and encourage it but do not require it. You will need your transcript of courses to fill this out.

Get to Know the CSS Profile
Roughly 200 colleges, universities, and scholarship agencies require the CSS Profile, a financial aid application administered by College Board.
