2023 CAS-CIAC Scholar-Athletes

Congratulations to Alex Marshall and Evelyn Butorac on being selected as New Fairfield's 2023 CAS-CIAC Scholar-Athletes!

The Scholar-Athlete Program annually recognizes two high school seniors from each member high school whose academic and athletic careers have been exemplary, whose personal standards and achievements are a model to others, and who possess high levels of integrity, self-discipline and courage. The event is the largest of the many honors programs CAS-CIAC hosts each year.

Junior Parking Beginning May 15

Juniors who wish to park on campus after seniors leave for SEE MUST fill out the form linked in the email sent to them this week. Some important information:

  • Juniors may ONLY park in the "dog park" lot.
  • Sophomores may not park on campus.
  • Students may not park in any staff space or in any space in the gravel lot near the stadium. The gravel lot is reserved for seniors doing SEE projects at school.
  • If students park in a staff spot or in the gravel lot, they will be fined and will not be eligible for the fall parking lottery.
  • If they do not register your car using this form and you receive a ticket, they will be fined and will not be eligible for the fall parking lottery.

There are a limited number of spaces in the dog park lot, and registrations will be on a first-come, first-served basis.

Juniors will not receive a parking tag. All registration information will be shared with school administrators and campus safety personnel.

Students In Action- Manufacturing Fair

On Wednesday NFHS students visited the Student-->Manufacturers Connection Fair at the State Capitol. Students explored various careers and technological innovations started in Connecticut. They spoke to manufacturers, vendors, exhibitors, and educational institutions. State Representative Pat Callahan met with students and gave them a tour of the Hall of the House at the Capitol. It was a wonderful opportunity for students.

Construction Update

The new NFHS is rapidly taking shape, and is on schedule to open for the 2023-2024 school year! Staff and students have been touring the new learning spaces, and more tours are on the way for students. Some things to keep in mind as we make the transition this summer:

  • The NFHS and NFMS buildings will be closed to the public this summer.
  • NFHS and NFMS offices will be temporarily housed in the Consolidated/MHHS building over the summer. Be on the lookout for more information!
  • Campus traffic patterns will be changing this summer and for next school year. Please be mindful of signage on campus to keep everybody safe!

More updates to come soon!

Dress Code Update/Reminder

As the weather starts getting warmer, we'd like to remind families of the NFPS student dress code.

Students may not wear clothing to school that:

  • Is unsafe for the student or those around the student
  • Depicts or advocates violence, criminal activity, use of alcohol or drugs, pornography or hate speech
  • Contains messages, images, etc. that can be construed to be racist, misogynistic, lewd, vulgar, obscene, defamatory, or threatening
  • Is disruptive to school operations and the education process in general

Clothing must cover breasts, genitalia, and buttocks.

The dress code applies to all students.

Students will be referred to the administration for violations of the dress code, and will be required to correct their clothing. Parents will be contacted if students cannot comply immediately or need clothing brought to school that follows the policy.

If you have questions, please email Mr. D'Amico
