January 2026

Words with Wiley
Welcome back, Falcons! I hope you all had a restful and joyful winter break. As we step into January, we're not just starting a new month—we are launching into the Spring Semester, a fresh opportunity to recommit to excellence.
Regardless of what transpired in the fall—whether you soared to new heights or faced a few unexpected challenges—the past is behind us. The spring semester is a clean slate, a chance to refocus, recharge, and renew your dedication to your goals.
Our mission remains clear and urgent: All Falcons will graduate with a flight plan. To achieve this, we must emphasize two critical actions:
Attend School Every Day: Consistent daily attendance is the single most important factor in academic success. Every lesson, every discussion, and every school day builds the foundation for your future. Be here, be on time, and be engaged!
Stay Focused on the Mission: Keep your "flight plan" in mind. What does success look like for you? Whether it's improving a grade, mastering a new skill, or preparing for college applications, let that vision guide your efforts every day.
Let's make this semester our strongest one yet. I am incredibly proud of our students, and I look forward to watching you all work hard and achieve remarkable success!
Attendance - Make Every Day Count
Our goal for attendance each year is 95%. Congratulations to our 10th and 11th grade students who have maintained a 95% attendance rate for the first and second cycle. Our Seniors are almost there with an attendance rate of 94.69% and we really need to see them step up and lead the way! Our 9th grade students have some room to grow with an attendance rate of 89.92%. It is never too late to start coming to school consistently and attending each class. January 6 is the start of a new year, a new semester and the perfect time to make a change. We miss you!

Semester Exam Exemptions Guidelines
Important to note that an exam exemption applies only to the exam not attendance.
In CFISD, Semester Exam Exemptions are offered as attendance and behavior incentives for students. To qualify for an exam exemption in a class/course, a student must have per semester:
- three or less absences;
- three or less tardies;
- an average of 80 or higher for the semester;
- an E, S or I in conduct;
- no OSS, ALC or JJAEP Placement; and
- no fees or fines.
Beginning with the 2025-26 school year, seniors seeking an exam exemption must have also met their CCMR requirement.
