Message from Mrs. Russell
Notes for the week:
We have a full week of school and are looking forward to lots of learning! Please make sure you are checking the WAGs below for your student's specific team. That is a great way to stay connected and fuel conversations about what is happening at school. Your student manages a lot of classes and deadlines, the team WAGs will tell you everything you need to know about assignments, due dates and upcoming quizzes or tests. We have 2 weeks until exam week, so please let us know if there is anything you have questions about. It's hard to believe we are headed to our third and final trimester of the school year.
Some of our 8th graders will be participating in the NAEP test this Thursday. It is known as the nation's report card and students are randomly selected for either the ELA or Math assessment. Parents received notification of this via email and students will receive information about their need for a charged Chromebook. MPMS will have extra supplies available for anyone who needs it.
Thank you for promoting kindness in your homes. Our students have been spreading lots of positivity and uplifting messages around in school. Middle school is a tricky age where kids learn more about themselves and make decisions about who they want to spend their time with. We are taking time to discuss what this looks like and how to still lead with kindness.

CAPTURING KIDS' HEARTS
A MESSAGE FROM YSU
Peer Pressure
We’ve all made poor choices. Not all poor choices are made because we want to, but because we feel pressure and end up giving in. Many of these decisions stem from wanting to fit in and not look weak. Real strength is being able to stand up for yourself and not give in, regardless of being pressured. If your boundaries are not respected, then I would not consider those people friends. Real friends respect you and your boundaries.
Stay safe!
Officer Leonard

TRAVELING STUDENT INFO
MPMS Accelerated Math Program and MPMS French Students Attendance on Days with an Irregular Schedule
For Elementary Students Attending MPMS
These students WILL NOT attend on most days that alter the daily schedule, including delay days, half days, and days where MPMS students start with first hour. One issue is that there may not be a bus available to transport them back to their elementary schools. Another issue on delay days is that they will be finished with their MPMS math class long before their elementary start time.
The only exception to this rule will be days where they will be taking their trimester exams. They will indeed attend on exam days, even with the change in schedule.
For MPMS Students Attending MPHS
These students WILL NOT attend on delay days, half days, and all other irregular days unless otherwise instructed by their MPHS Math/French teacher.
