Joan Martin Students Celebrated As Published Illustrators!
Last year, third grade students at Joan Martin Elementary created monster drawings as part of a lesson focused on incorporating details into both their artwork and writing. These drawings were shared with the middle school FACS classes, who brought the students’ creations to life by sewing the monsters as a class project. Additionally, the drawings were submitted to the Young Artist contest. We are proud to announce that one of our Brickies, Malina DeBold, won the contest—her drawing was featured on the cover of the book, and she received a goodie bag in recognition of her achievement. Furthermore, 43 of our students’ drawings were included in the book, making them published illustrators. The book serves as a celebration of their artistic talents and creativity. We are so proud of all of these Brickies! Way to Be Excellent On Purpose!

- Prepare your outfit: Choose your clothes for the next day and have them ready to go.
- Prepare your lunch: Make your lunch and pack it, or prepare components of it.
- Set a bedtime: Establish a consistent bedtime to ensure you get adequate sleep for a productive school day.
- Prepare for the morning: Set your alarm, and consider placing it across the room to avoid hitting snooze.
