zoom_out_map

Kindergarten Registration

Help your school! Register for kindergarten as early as possible! Kindergarten Registration for Fall 2026 is open online at www.fargo.k12.nd.us/kindergartenregistration from February 2 to May 15. It is important to register your child as soon as possible to give FPS and your future school enough time to provide students with the best possible experience. If your child turns 5 by July 31, 2026, they are eligible to attend school in the fall.

Kindergarten Registration is a three-step process:

STEP ONE: PRE-REGISTER ONLINE
Complete a pre-registration form at
www.fargo.k12.nd.us/kindergartenregistration. After office staff review and approve your pre-registration, a confirmation email with instruction to create a PowerSchool account will be sent. For assistance, please contact your child’s school to schedule an appointment to complete in-person.

STEP TWO: POWERSCHOOL REGISTRATION FORMS

Create a Parent PowerSchool account and complete registration forms.

STEP THREE: SUBMIT DOCUMENTATION
Upload or bring the following documents to your child’s school to finalize registration.

  • Child’s certified birth certificate
  • Parent Identity (driver’s license)
  • Child’s immunization record with 5-year shots
  • Proof of address (lease/mortgage statement or two documents that include parent/guardian name and current address, such as a utility bill and paystub)

If you do not know which school your child will attend, call 701.446.1043 or check online at www.fargo.k12.nd.us/boundarymaps. If you need help in PowerSchool, please call 701.446.1006.

A second round of registration will reopen in July with a different process.

FPS is Moving to Infinite Campus

As part of a state-wide project, this summer Fargo Schools will switch from PowerSchool to Infinite Campus as our student information system. By the middle of July, Infinite Campus will become our active system moving forward.

This change will impact Parent and Guardian access. The PowerSchool Parent portal will be retired and replaced with a new Infinite Campus Parent Portal. Once Infinite Campus is active in July, parents and guardians should be on the lookout for an email from Fargo Schools inviting them to activate their new Campus Parent Portal account. In the new Parent Portal, parents and guardians will be able to review their household and student information in the new system and update and sign off on forms for the new school year.

As we get closer to the end of this school year, more information will be published about Campus Parent Portal features.

Climate and Culture Survey

Fargo Public Schools invites parents and caregivers to share their thoughts through the Districtwide Climate and Culture Survey. Schools and district staff use the results to review current practices and to plan for the upcoming school year.

This input helps shape decisions that support students, families, and staff. The survey takes about 10 minutes to complete and gives parents and caregivers a chance to share their experiences in our schools. Caregivers are invited to complete a survey for each school their child attends this year. This feedback is important.
